    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

And to show you the frustrating factor of trying to deal with this, a picture from 3 hours after getting back from the testing station. Here we go again! Snow today and tomorrow. Colorado inches can change to feet in the same broadcast. Snow again on Wed and Thurs. Hopefully I get another...

    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

Colorado emissions testing is on all vehicles. We all share in this nonsense in certain areas of Colorado. The whole state is not ridiculous like this. The mountain counties don't bother with this crap. You will see on the test that they try to help out the hipo vehicles with an Enhanced...

    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

Thanks Camfab; From the looks of it and those charts, this rolling dyno emissions test here in Colorado where they run the road course fully is quite a bit more complicated, tough and thorough than what you showed there from California, no? Looks like the cats do have an effect. The problem...

    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

Oh Swelin; Your killing me. :) Anyway, we are going to do the following at my friend's shop to pin point the issue: 1. Drain all the gas out of the tank. 2. Refuel with the the highest octane we can get, 91 Octane here in Colorado which this time of year is Winterized fuel (all our fuel is...

    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

Thanks Camfab; I know the govenment is not causing the problems with my car, it is just causing the hassle to do everything else. If the Bellanger high flow cats have a short lifespan, then I guess that is one thing and I need to be aware of that. I ran this Bellanger set-up for four years...

    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

Thanks BlueSRT; Here is some more detailed information on the situation. BTW the State of Colorado upgraded all their software, etc. as of 01/01/2012. Looks like this is going to be a problem for all. Anyone else have an idea what is going on looking at this? Looks like I have to spend...

    Help!!!! Emissions Issue?

Okay guys; Got up this morning and felt the snow and ice had subsided enough to drive my 06' Viper Coupe the four miles to the Emissions Testing Station here in Colorado as my plates are due here in January. Never had a care in the world as the last time I tested the car in January of 2010, it...

Got A 2004 Viper and need help all ready

Which post did you disconnect on the battery first? I seem to remember you have to disconnect the negative post first and then postive one. It was backwards from a conventional thinking and older cars in the past. I remember on some of my hoped up 5.0 Mustangs in the day that you had to do it a...

Keep the ACR or buy a ACR X

MB; Good luck to you! The yellow #35X will work just fine. I pick on yellow cars but then again my yellow 69 Mach 1 is my slowest one in my mini collection too. Ha! Ha! If I could ever be done with this career nonsense, I would love to be right there with you guys in an ACRX. Hope you land...

    Gen 5 Viper

I have high reassurance that the car will be somewhere around 700 HP. At VOI11, Ralph pretty much alluded to it being high enough for all here, if you read between the lines. As far as the Jeep SRT8, they did listen to a lot of owners. Many including myself wanted to have towing capacity and if...

Keep the ACR or buy a ACR X

I would question the yellow ACRX #35 too. I mean it is yellow so it is probably slower then every other "more appropriately colored" standard ACR out there. That's because it is yellow. Mopar Boy has proved before that yellow is well sssssslllllllooooooowwwwww!!!!!

    Gen 5 Viper

Agreed you can read through the lines Bob to get an idea, but there is nothing in fact on any of it. They are testing active suspension yes but that does not mean it will make the cut on any Viper. They are just testing it. You are also assuming the car is still massively hand built. Retooling...

    Gen 5 Viper

Bob; The only thing I don't agree with in what you said was that it will sell OUT quickly. You are assuming it will have the same level of production at only 500 to maybe 2000 cars per year. I do believe SRT will be looking at much higher production than that for this new GEN. I do feel it will...

Viper Nürburgring video now available - HD too!

I thought Venom Members get some kind of discount for VPA ordering like this, yet I can not see where to enter in my VENOM Membership VCA number to get a discount. Not trying to be cheap, just trying to use this VENOM Status for ordering something for the first time since I up a few years ago...

    08 Hood upgrade...stripe question

You will figure it out! I went with raised on my 08' Hooded 06'. Looks great! I will say that you will want those big fat, through the vent stripes up front though. I have them on my car and they look real good. That way if you sell the car you still have factory width stripes up front to match...

Classic Vipers-- I don't understand it

The only true investment that pays off is investing in yourself, whether that be your own business or an education. EVERYTHING else is a gamble that only the right timing and luck decide upon.

    2006 srt10 questions

Storied GEN III Coupes are in the 40s, the rest are still in the 50s. There is a reason you can not find a good one in the mid-40s because the one you want is not out there. Hold your own on your GEN I. You should be getting at least $20K to $23K, even if it is in rough shape. I agree with a few...

Classic Vipers-- I don't understand it

It will be interesting to see what it goes for, however it really is not the pulse of the industry. I know all the unique 1 of 1 cars from any manufacturer that are on my future list would never go up for auction. They will be private sales as the owners of those cars care as much about them...

Classic Vipers-- I don't understand it

After the next go at anti-recession boom, and a few people get some more money, more and more will be lost to damage and some deamnd will go up as they are relatively cheap right now. I do predict that after around 2020, you will find that all perfromance cars that are simplistic in nature will...

    Gen V and Pirelli

Alignments are important as well. The Pirelli four sets I have had over the years on various vehicles, they did not wear funny in the inside or outside, they just simply wore all over and very quickly. I was also not impressed with the Pirelli Scorpions. They were a very harsh ride with lots of...

    Gen V and Pirelli

Happy for you Jerome, you are obviously a Pirelli fan and had some luck with them! My experience with Pirelli has been much different on my SUVs, trucks and cars. You are right that pressure has a lot to do with tire life, but what I have experienced on these Pirelli tires are something...

    Gen V and Pirelli

Pirelli is a step backwards for Dodge and Viper! Let's step away from the Viper for a second to see the new Jeep SRT8s delivered with Pirelli Scorpion Tires. These are a notoriously lousy tire. I had them as factory equipment on a few SUVs over the years. Lucky if I made 10,000 miles with them...

2013 Gen5 Speculation... What We Know... What We Think ?

Pirelli and Penzoil. Right now that is all we really know for sure so in reality we don't know Jack Chit.

    Speaking of Viper concept cars...

The only irregularity on that build is that Dodge would have chosen a 10L+ motor at that time so the engine bay is too small and pipes out the side are too small. Ha! Ha! It is cool looking, no doubt. I kinda like it.
