I had the same thing happen on a 2000 GTS at 2400 miles. What a pita. The car never did seem right after that like it always ran hot. After the fact I heard the 2000s had a bad impeller on the water pump also. Good luck.
If this $35k coupon is on the way, they better hurry up with it before I buy a Vette. I made an offer on one Saturday and the sales mgr would not give anymore than a $1k discount and I walked. The salesman called me last night and I figured they were going to counter my offer, but he was just...
This is the most interesting Gen V for me since the introduction of the Gen V. I sold and miss my 2010 SSG ACR LE. This new car gives me hope. I will be interested in pricing when available. Might just change my mind about getting another Viper.
You are correct. With the market the way it is, I have the leverage to buy on my terms or not at all. I just bought an item Christmas Eve that I had made an offer on 2 weeks earlier and the realtor laughed in my agents face. Guess who got the last laugh.
I was offered 10% off a 13 SRT 2 mo ago that is still there. They have now had it going on 5 months. I offered them 27% off MSRP. I guess we will see how long they want to pay floor plan interest. I am not sure I would still be willing to go with that offer now.
Nice pics. Both beautiful cars. They look very similar to me. If both of those cars were coming down the road toward you, and you really did not know your cars, you would think they were of the same make. The Vette would look good with black wheels.
Marketing could be to blame, not sure. I dont think I ever based my decision to buy a Viper on how it was marketed. I based my decisions on how much I liked the car and if it was a value, in other words how much bang for the buck.
I have had 4 Vipers, most recently a 2010 ssg acr le. I was fortunate enough to see a GTS @ $132k and an SRT @ $109k. Both of them left me feeling they were too high even though my acr was $111k. The most glaring thing was the SRT had the econo stripes that did not finish on the trunk or below...
I do not have a gen v on order, but if I did, I would be patient and get it when srt has had the chance to do whatever they are doing to make them right. You don't want to be fixing issues at a dealer when they could have been taken care of at the factory if there are any issues. I remember...
When you get a chance to read the article, note the quote about the F12's power to weight ratio of 5.2 pounds per horsepower and how the Viper was not allowed to exceed that 5.2 ratio, so both the Viper and the F12 have the same ratio. The numbers are facts, not fluff, unless MT made a misprint...
