I still haven't found any resources on the pros and cons of hydraulic cooling except when converting from clutch fan to hydraulic in industrial applications. I hope the Viper engineers can chime in on this.
So in the pursuit of performance and reliability why don't we see upgrade kits for p/s cooling conversion fans on any gen 1,2,4 or other performance oriented vehicle. People blow tons of money for mods. I am going to have to explore this potential market ;)
I do understand your explanation although I am inclined to say that a P/S pump takes much more power to turn than an alternator. I just hate to see that my coolant temp rise so much after I shut off my car. I would have loved for them to allow the fan to keep operating even after the motor is...
Why did the engineers feel it was better to have a Hydraulic cooling fan in the gen 3 than an electric fan? Wouldn't a hydraulic cooling fan put more stress on the P/S pump which in turn adds to parasitic power loss ?

Never mind dealer won't sell 0.020 undersized mains. I will have to look for another crank.
I have a ram srt10 in my shop that needs an engine rebuild with 250k :omg: I didn't think this engine would last that long! no offence chrysler Ive built too many of your engines in the past! Pictures on the way!
Hopefully this works

I can vouch for Rolling Thunder as their shop is in the same complex as my engine shop and I have seen them play with their fair share of vettes and vipers. But they don't have a dyno. Last time I spoke with them they used Engineered Automotives dyno.
I run an engine rebuilding company. I use Timesert all the time for head bolt holes. Its easy enough to use and they are really strong. Have someone qualified to drill it. Trying to drill out the old threads by yourself will be difficult because cranks are made out of hardened steel.
I think 137,000 on the higher end with all the goodies would sound about $25,000 too high..... I would say max 100,000
2006 Tim Hortons
Large Coffee: $1.38
2006 Dodge Viper $83,145
2011
Large coffee $1.72 +25%
2011 Dodge Viper $$91,005 +9.4%
They should charge more at least...
There are many factors that can effect oil pressure in a engine. From the ambient temperature to the viscosity of the oil itself. Most factory oil pressure warning lights will illuminate when below 5 psi. Having your oil pressure hovering around 40 psi when at operating temperature sounds good...
No matter what age you are, this car needs to be respected as this car challenges even the most skilled drivers. I was 24 when I got my 05 and drove a lot of other cars but nothing like this animal. Good choice on the vert though Its fun living other people's dream. Drive safe;)
I was driving by there around 7:30-8:00 on my way home from work and saw a bunch of cars, I didn't know what was happening. If I had known you guys were there I would have stopped by !
I understand where you are coming from. I run an engine rebuilding shop, so it can get tiring to hear about cars. In all honesty I had a great time sitting at a table with people who I can no long call strangers but friends. I think Tom is speaking for all when he says that as a car club we...
Yeah I got cut off by a minivan as we were leaving :(. When I caught up to make a right some guy changed lanes in the middle of the intersection almost colliding with me.. scary drivers out there
