    HELP, car is totally dead

Very doubtful that the gauge of the jumper is a problem. More likely a connection on the cables. Make sure that the new amp is not on all the time. That will surely drain the battery.

    ROE Supercharger is born tonight

I am finishing my Roe install. I did the PS pulley / bracket install at the same time. The PS pulley install took about 4 hours total, using the "free" puller / installer from AutoZone. I soaked the pulley / shaft interface overnight with penetrating oil, and it came off without too much...

Deceleration Rate Measurements: OEM vs. 40mm Rear Brake Calipers (Negative "G's")

Re: Deceleration Rate Measurements: OEM vs. 40mm Rear Brake Calipers (Negative "G's") Tom, very interesting data. I'm trying to sort out what improvements can be made to a Gen II car with ABS. Is it correct to interpret that you can add braking power on either axel and achieve improved...

    Catch Can Plumbing Help

Thanks guys. Turns out if you click on the "How-Tos", you will only see older illustrated upgrades. If you go through the new VCA home page, you see all of the newer ones.

Dave, I don't see anything in the illustrated upgrades from DY. I looked there first, and then again today.

    Replacement Radiator Cap for 01?

Yeah, agreed that the sacrificial anode is not the way to go. Stant makes a cap that fits, but is only 16 psi vs. stock of 17 psi. I'm going to go with that.

    Catch Can Plumbing Help

I'm finishing up my Roe SC install, and am looking at Roe's recommendations on modifying the crankcase breather. "Option #1: Leave the original valve cover breathers in place, which run together to the air filter housing. Option #2: Use a push in valve cover breather(s) vented to a catch can...

Unable to access members' public profiles

LOL. Remember I am from Indy. As far as I can tell, there are about 2 VCA members in the area, and maybe 4 in the whole IN - KY area. I would not be getting much for my $100 annually, and I am a pennypincher. :-)

Unable to access members' public profiles

Just food for thought. The reason I wanted to view this was to send an email directly to a member. I sent a PM, but that can be hit or miss if the member does not have email notification turned on and doesn't log on very often. Regarding signatures, I would suggest that you turn those back...

Unable to access members' public profiles

When I click on a member's name, I get an option to "view public profile". However, when I do this, I get an error message: Purdue_Boiler_Viper, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges...

My car made me look like an ass yesterday

The key fob marginally works on my Gen II. I have to hold it just in front of the driver's side door, about knee level, and hope. Most of the time it works. But, sometimes I have to "unlock" it multiple times. I had the same experience with having the alarm go off, and not knowing how to...

    Replacement Radiator Cap for 01?

Can't seem to find any aftermarket cap for my 01 GTS. Even went to Stant website and they did not list a cap for the car. Anyone know what options there are for a replacement cap? OEM cap has 17 psi on the label. Thanks! 2001 Race Yellow GTS Very Smooth Tubes, Jesel Rollin Rockers...

    Danger! Motor mount failure

Any idea what caused the failure? I've never seen one of these up close. Looks like some type of rubber for dampening. Did the rubber become brittle?

    Cooling Systems Clamps

Pressure theory is interesting, but everything is stock. I'll check the "radiator cap" and see if it is not to spec. I've been reading about hoses, and what I've found is that most hoses will slightly collapse under the clamping force. This makes sense as most materials creep when stress is...

    OK, I bent a rod .....

I'd talk to Arrow or Tator. I think you are now speculating that the rod was already bent before the dyno? How can the tuner say that the engine was real strong if it had a bent rod?
  23. P

    OK, I bent a rod .....

You bent the rod running without nitrous and without the SC? Seems odd that you would bend it on the dyno at this point. Break maybe, due to the stress you have been putting on it with the nitrous, but bend? I'm no expert, but I would have expected a break vs a bend.

    Cooling Systems Clamps

Hi Steve. I got the Roe hoses last year, but no clamps included. I don't see on Roe's website where he even offers clamps. Hey got the rear tire fixed at Discount Tire on Michigan Road, as recommended by Champion. For Free, and they did a good job. Very pleased.
