    What causes this? w/PIX

I'm not sold that the grooving is not a problem. Regardless of the brake pad composition, why would the harder bits align to produce grooves? Hell, I would guess that it would be a tough engineering task to get the bits to align around the curve of the pad. I did a little searching, and found...

    Belanger Leak/Gaskets

I hate to say it, but I'm glad you did your install before me. I'm sure you saved me at least one problem.

    Stripes...

Take a look at: http://forums.viperclub.org/srt10-srt10-coupe-discussions/609268-curious-why.html The car is a 93, so according to JonB, it can't be stock with stripes going through the license plate area.

    Stripes...

A good vinyl installer could do it. My NACA looks great in vinyl, and the license plate area would be easier than the NACA. But, stock stripes do not go through the license plate area.

Tony, just curious. How thick is the Avery? The shop that did mine used 2 mil.

    Belanger Leak/Gaskets

Thanks for the update Tony. My degree is in Materials Engr., and I learned just enough back in school to know that you have to be very careful with welding due to the heat treatment you are imparting upon the metal. And that heat treatment varies as you move away from the weld. But I never would...

    Think Spring!!!!

Yeah, this winter has sucked. Not only has the weather been cold and snowy, but everyone is walking around coughing and sneezing. Friggin viruses everwhere.

Good question. Are you driving the car this winter?

    Squeaky Brakes

I've got a write up somewhere on Roloc. I'll find it and post it. Here is the 3M name for the product: 3M™ Roloc™ Brake Rotor Surface Conditioning Disc Starter Pack, 01410, 12 per case.

    Squeaky Brakes

My greens squeaked after installation on stock rotors. I did a little prep to knock the corrosion off the rotors with that install. Then I got serious and got the 3M Roloc pads and really prepped the rotors. After the Roloc, the rotors were really cleaned up, and the squeaks were gone. But...

Break pads: Is there a good compromise?

Doh! Brakes! I knew that! Thanks for the input guys.

Break pads: Is there a good compromise?

LOL. I knew Chuck would reply with his usual straightforward advice.

Break pads: Is there a good compromise?

My stock 01 screeched to each stop as if DC forgot to put on brake pads. Could not have been worse if they made the rotors out of chalkboard and the pads out of chalk. I switched to EBC greens, and ahhhhhh, quiet. I put SRT calipers on the front with Brakeman 3s, and moved the Gen 2 fronts...

Suggestions on maintenance during S/C install??

Looks like you got most of the obvious ones. I'd add a catch can.

Installed Roe 14" front brake kit

Now move the Gen 2 fronts to the rear. :) Dave can sell you the parts. The Roe front is a great upgrade to a Gen 2. But, re-use those fronts on those crappy rear Gen 2s and you will be astonished. You will stop so fast you will get a headache! :omg:

Chuck Tator Featured in Wards Dealer Business Magazine

I like the idea. Hell, I'll even become a member if the VCA does this.

    Tator's...Are we doing enough?

Re: Tartor's .Are we doing enough? Read the Ward's article. Dodge needs to realize that Tator could be a good representative for the company, if marketed correctly.

Viper Oil Catch Can - No Viper Tax

Hey Ken, why would you say that you don't want to run the line back to the air box? I've done so on my boosted GTS, and I don't see any obvious residue. The oil seen previously in my throttle bodies is now captured by the catch can.

And my next victim could be

Can you add launch control to the car? AWD with launch control would be hard to beat.

Blew out my Belanger header gaskets at the Y

I tried to use it to help seal the reducer to the existing header. That was clamped, but not real well. The silicone lasted about an hour. I don't see how my application is any harsher than what is being described here. If the silicone burns off, it is going to do more harm than good as it...

Blew out my Belanger header gaskets at the Y

Dang. I'm getting ready to do my Belanger install, and you guys are making me nervous. I'm not a believer in the high temp copper silicone. I tried that when installing my cat and cat back system. The stuff burned off in no time, and made the car look like it was on fire (smoke!). :omg:

    Grundy Insurance?

I'm struggling to see where they cover anything in light of this. I drive my Viper once in a while, sometimes even to work if the weather is perfect. But, less than 1k miles a year, and not as a daily driver. Nearly every time I drive it, I stop somewhere for groceries, fuel, auto parts, etc...

    Innovate LED / switch mounting

I'm going to monitor both banks. I was thinking of a couple of these, with suitable annunciators. :D
