Gen 4 in a Gen 2 - Anybody do the conversion?

It can be done. If you want a package to look at, Arrow do one, intake, ECU and all. Nice, but don't expect the means to be able to do it, to come cheap, we are talking just into double K figures.

    ABS removal racecar!

Glad you like it, I posted here in the Gen3 because of the interest in track prepping street cars, and a lot of the GT3 spec Comp Coupe are OE parts out the factory! Its the Holinger sequential as was used in the GTS-R... small OD flywheel and bellhousing, solid cradle mounted and reversed...

    Oreca / GTS-R

Sadly they are done with the Viper racing, they sold out...but, the new Dodge Motorsport Europe is Oreca Viper manger now as a separate company. Oreca are still running a lot of race teams, from Audi's to Nissan I saw, but their eye-opener is the LMP2. this is an internet photo, as I respected...

    ABS removal racecar!

Ever thought about removing your ABS, no, you just wouldn't as the brakes on Gen3/4 street car are superb! So I thought I post up this project I was involved in, I was very curious to see first of all how much weight could be saved, so pulled out the full pedal box, master cylinders, servo, ABS...

    Oreca / GTS-R

I was down at Oreca (in France) last weekend, couldn't take photos of the developmental race stuff, obviously very guarded but they were kind enough to show me, and no photos in their amazing carbon fabrication labs either. Saw their LMP racer looking promising for this years Le Mans :-) Anyway...

So how do you do it, let one go?

I have never sold one of my cars before, I still have my first car of 20 years ago, but today I parted with my '01 Yellow GTS, and was so tearful. How do you do it, you guys and ladies that have sold a Viper previous? My garage is full, yet seems so empty now without his big yellow curves? I...

    OS Giken Differential in Viper

I've run many Quaifes in Gen2 and never looked for anything better. Gen 3 Street and Comp Coupe the Giken is a big improvement in how you can drive the car out of a corner, end of story, this is the best!

Gen V - "a naked woman on the beach"

Well at least it wasn't an excited naked man on the beach, not good for high speed aero, a g. stopper in the middle!! LOL So is the frame... steel or aluminium thats my big question? Weight!? Ali Viper (and the tech is there from the Prowler, would be the way to go...)

    Viper F1

Yeah, you a right on Tom, I think around 300lbs excess rear, as the 100lb Hewland trans sits the gear cluster out to the rear, but fits up and can be stressed, with out extending the wheel base much. I will scale with the Viper set up, and then scale with 200lb engine ballast and the F1 carbon...

    Viper F1

Fantastic so many F1 enthusiasts here, it really is another world. One of the things I'm looking forwards to, once this is up and running, is giving car people the chance to see an F1 up close and personal at no cost, sit in and have a smile etc, that's whats life's all about. I was lucky enough...

    Viper F1

That is a heads, cam, pistons, dry sump, tuned engine...its not short of the horse power and way exceeds torque! Honda pull the engines and steering wheel, they do not want the technology secrets getting out there (apparently they crush them). I was looking into an older V10 F1 engine, but they...

Looks great, love the lighting and back drop effects, and slammed stance.

    Crankshaft damper bolt

I've only ever pin / key SC or heads / cam power cars, personally I don't think its need on a stockish engine. I'd be more concerned about the OE damper which can deteriorate. As to torque wrench I have a high torque one, but its too bulky to get in there. I use a breaker bar (no extensions) and...

    Viper F1

Happy 2011 new year, and thought I'd share a few pics of just some of what I've been upto lately with a Viper F1 project. Its 2 cylinders over spec, quite a few cu. in. extra, and weight...the engine weighs as much as the whole car less engine (!) Posting it here as its a Gen3 engine, its looks...

Gen II compared to Gen III/IV steering wheel spline.

The OE Viper column spline is same as Chevy truck (or something like that from memory) ... so you fitted a Chevy wheel for a truck? :dropdev:

Gen II compared to Gen III/IV steering wheel spline.

Photos, just don't give me a hard time for needing dusting, I had to go dig some of these parts out! Comp Coupe quick release 'lug' on the column in Comp Coupe (Gen3/4) Same Comp Coupe 'lug' on Gen2 OE column: This is the Comp Coupe quick release part, and an optional steering wheel...

Gen II compared to Gen III/IV steering wheel spline.

Comp Coupe part # 04862447 listing as $110 "steering quick release" but I can't remember if thats the male lug also to install on the column as I thought it was at least $200 for the male and female release parts kit. Now this is 3-bolt fitting and you then need a 3 to 6-bolt adapter that most...

Anyone Have More Pictures of This SSG RT/10?

That car looks great. I was thinking of doing an RT in the SSG, I fell in love with the colour after working on the Woodhouse Performance Comp Coupe last year, before it went GTS blue this year!

Gen II compared to Gen III/IV steering wheel spline.

The Comp Coupe one is one of the nicest and small and light (I think its actually a Porsche type) and the spline bolts on not welds. Let me know if you need part numbers. I have also used another type which is bulkier but only allows the wheel to be fitted in one position on fitting back on...

    Snow Time

The black vert in the snow makes a great pic, mine is kind of camouflaged in snow! Wish I'd had a camera on me the other day, there were icicles off the front fascia, looked like fangs, LOL. Hi City, yes nice and warm. Only just had a chance to look back in here, I've not had a vert before to...

    Replacing corroded brake lines, options?

The OE lines are pre bent, as Bill says thats the best way, they are not that expensive, the newer ones come with plastic sheath coating. Otherwise you can buy the steel line, Mopar part, and make your own if you have the correct flaring tool and know what you're doing. Or yes you can use...

Gen II compared to Gen III/IV steering wheel spline.

Yes, they are the same, I've put quick-release wheels and boss on Gen 2's and Gen3's. I'm at work at the moment so don't have my photos to access and part numbers. For 'off road use' only (!) they set an air bag light...on the gen2 you can just pull the bulb, gen3 put a resistor in. If you...

    Snow Time

I know you get way more snow for many months in other parts of the world, but it's something of a novelty here (normally we just get lots of cold rain). The UK country side always looks pretty with the snow, and what better way to enjoy it than in a vert, roof down (with the heater full on)...

    Wheel Offsets

The SRT stock wheels are a more positive offset than Gen2. You will hit on the Gen3 caliper faces if you try to put any stock Gen2 wheels on a Gen3. Also the front Gen3 doesn't have enough positive offset to clear on the Gen3 rear. Aftermarket wheels often run with a little more positive...
