I'd recommend starting with the basic setup for $600 and adding from there (purge, heater, second bottle??, etc.). The basic NX kit comes with ALL wiring and plumbing you'll need. All the braided nitrous and fuel lines are already cut to length. Just a little easier than trying to re-invent...
I'm also running with the Vec 2 ($1,000 itself). I bought the wet 200hp kit from Nitrous Express (NX) and the entire kit cost $600. I fabricated my own smooth tubes and solenoid brackets and did all the plumbing and wiring myself. Other than a set of colder spark plugs, those were the only...
Yes, it's worth it. I've hooked up my laptop and logged a couple of files. You email them to Sean, and he will write a custom program to get your timing and Air/Fuel where they belong. I still haven't taken mine to the dyno yet, but plan on doing so soon.
I guess that was my point - the locals don't care. The feds don't patrol highways and enforce regulations, which leaves enforcement up to state and local law enforcement. I took out the factory belts and installed the 6pt harnesses. The passenger compartment would have been too cramped for...
Sweet! Everyone that's installed it has had nothing but good things to say. There was a recent post INCLUDING PICS and I believe it was entitled, "Halloween Mods."
Someone mentioned in an earlier post that they had a Roe Cooling Duct kit they were not going to install (due to cutting hole in front bumper). Anyone have one they aren't going to use?? I'm in the market for one - thanks.
I"m doing my pin count just like you. But mine calls for pin 5 on both master and slave. If you look very carefully with a flashlight, the pins are numbered on the ends of the rows. That's how I was SURE I was in pin 5. And yes, I've tried pin 5 on both master and slave. We must have...
Yep, the PWM out is pin 5 on BOTH master and slave. Sean helped me troubleshoot over the phone and I ended up shipping him the Vec2 and relay. No doubt Sean will figure it out.
Re: Roe Racing Can\'t Reccomend A Good Tuner For There S/C...SAD
Sean rocks!!! He's patiently been walking me through the Vec2 tuning and nitrous setup issues as I come across them. He is extremely knowledgeable and can write you a custom Vec2 program in NO TIME! I think I've more than got...
I'm not so fond of the graphics, but did you see the risers on the spoiler? That's pretty cool, I don't care who you are........
Again, I'm not a big fan of large spoilers, but those risers are sweet!
Yep, the box is checked. And again, I have the relay GROUND going to pin 5 on the Vec2. Therefore the ground out (-) should be activated when those certain parameters are met. It ISN'T triggering the relay though.
And to make sure I had everything done correctly, I touched the relay GROUND...
I actually asked some Deputy Sheriff's and State Troopers before going to a TeamTech 6pt harness. They didn't see a problem with it. The consensus was......"It looks a lot safer than stock seatbelts and I can't see anyone having a problem with it."
And I don't know what would make a race seat...
My program begins with 50% somewhere around 3500 rpm and is 100% for every entry after that until it tapers back off. Sean Roe wrote the program for me - it's not like I hacked up something myself. And would any parts store carry a relay that would trigger with 5 volts? It's worth a try...
I wired my relay to power and ran the negative lead to the Vec2, since it is supposed to put out a negative signal. It still won't trigger the relay.
I AM using PWM, but that's what Sean Roe drew up for a custom program. Are you suggesting using an 'analog out' instead of PWM???
I know...
C'mon guys, I still can't get the 5 volt Vec2 output to trigger the nitrous relay. When I jump 12 volts to the relay, everything works like a champ (solenoids click on). How have some of you guys made this work? Thanks,
Ted
I too am having problems getting my Vec 2 to activate the NX relay. It's putting out the max, which is 5 volts. Do I need to buy a different relay that WILL trigger with 5 volts, or what? Help!
Nope, a couple of hours away. Remember Tiff, the guy with the Hummers (and yes Vet).... he's my bud. That just happened to be a warm, still quiet day at Crater Lake. I got LOTS of good pics that day. Thanks!
I was thinking of installing the Roe cooling duct kit. Does anyone have one lying around - I thought I heard someone mention they couldn't bring themselves to cutting their front end up. Just thought I'd throw it out before ordering one.
