    Roe vs. Paxton

The flip side to that is my 5 pound Roe can run the 11 turn Gingerman track in 4th gear all the way around with enough grunt to break loose on any corner exit in 4th gear. With my 3.45 gears and Fidanza flywheel, RPMs run from 1800--5000. I can pull a stock GENII/III Viper that runs 3rd gear all...

    Domestic Driver Magazine

Our cars are in the featured rides section. Just became aware of this on line mag last month. Had to write fast to get in this issue seeing as we've been doing a lot of Vipering many miles from here. Steve

Aluminum Flywheels - Fidanza or RPS?

I have 46,000+ miles on our Fidanza set up. SC, autocrosses, track time, hard driving. Zero issues. Steve

    Gingerman Track Event June 20

I'll second that! Great day. Lots of fun. Shiny side up at 4 PM. It was all good. Thanks for your efforts putting this together Ron. And also Mike and Diane for helping things run smoothly last Friday. Steve

I thought my car was really fast until yesterday

A nearby Viper friend of ours has a 2005 Ford GT which is 723 HP to the back end via a 3.4L Whipple SC instead of the 2 point something it comes with. Throw in the Ford racing exhaust for good measure and I think most Vipers wouldn't want to go head to head. His 98 RT/10 has an 8 pound Roe on it...

    VEC2 upgrade?

I don't understand what's up with what you were told. I would definitely talk to Sean. The AIT feature works for me.......and is in an upgraded VEC2. I'm happy to share anything that might help you with it Steve

    VEC2 upgrade?

I'm not sure why they said that? I upgraded my VEC2s in 4/07 and retuned our GENII cars. It works. I am basically tuned for one card for temps between 35 and 100F. Prior to that I had 3 cards 50/70/90. An upgraded VEC2 has VEC3 capabilities, but is not exactly the same for installing the...

When best intentions BLOW UP an engine...

I'm with DY. 27,000 self installed / self tuned Roe miles since 4/06. No prior experience like this of any kind. No issues to date. Almost 80,000 miles on the car. Bottlefed -- Good luck with however you go. Steve

VIPAIR™ Dyno Results on 99 RT 16 RWHP!!

Can't speak to power gains, but there is no doubt the Vipair reduces IAT as the VEC logs on our 2 cars prove.........by 15 - 20 degrees. Even idling for long periods (reading / setting LTFT ) the VEC log shows cooler with the Vipair. Any air box that restricts incoming air to the naca duct...or...

    Insurance Coverage

Although getting fewer, there are still insurance companies out there who will insure your car under your regular coverage for 'driving school', non-timed events. If you have never tracked your car, instruction is a must......and you can have just as much fun 'un-timed'. I just have my wife use...

    98 PCM on my 01

Hi Eric, They work. Looks like $205 to here. Your soot could be caused by the 3rd tube deal as well. The pcm can only adapt what it can see. I needed no pigtails. As every Viper is a little different -- be careful that the sensor height is the same. I had this issue before in 2003 with the...

    98 PCM on my 01

My 01 set some misfires codes last week end. Had never set any codes before. The only thing I can think of which may have prompted this is putting the Quick Fires where they belong..instead of the 3/4 tube set up as it's been since we bought it. Even though I had this running right at WOT, it...

    MCVO Krusin Klassics Fun Run

As usual, great job with the pictorial Bruce! Thanks for the all nice comments. It's always the people that make the event and we have a great group! The Vipers ranged from 1993 to a couple of 08s. This was our 9th annual Fun Run. The Krusin Klassics Car Club has been doing it for 23 years. Next...

    Low milage Vipers

My biased, drive the car, mind set says worse than the 1800+ miles per month we've put on since the spring of 2000 :drive: Steve

Gingerman Driving School / Track Day June 20, 2008

Ron promises that the weather will be excellent for this event which is coming up soon on June 2oth. Tracking a Viper is one of the thrills of owning the car. There will be 4 run groups ranging from Novice through Advanced. Instructors will ride with, and train, the Novice group or anyone else...

    resetting the PCM / ECU...?

It doesn't make sense to me electrically. I'll continue to do as I have. It's always worked and is much easier. Even after quickly going through the wiring diagram in the manual....it still looks like you should be able to drain the PCM from the front. An actual schematic of the PCM system would...

    resetting the PCM / ECU...?

Just to be clear then -- I could disconnect the 3 PCM plugs and put the PCM on the shelf in my basement for a while -- reinstall it --- and it would still not be cleared of memory? I'm not getting something here. I'll have to see a schematic to understand I guess. I think the radio...

    resetting the PCM / ECU...?

OK...so you did mean from the back. Not to worry -- I have a battery shut off switch mounted in the front. I can clear the brain for my purposes by doing the above I listed. If the computer is isolated completely from the back end......and the stud drained down......what further impact on PCM...

    NorCal Viper Club floor mats

I completely disagree with the logo placement. It could easily be seen back further. I guess most Vipers aren't driven much so for them it doesn't really matter. Our car was a factory pick up. Stock amplifier. I apprised Maurice of this problem 8 years ago, but he didn't think it possible not...

    resetting the PCM / ECU...?

Chuck, While we're on the brain resetting issue: I just went out and tried that with our car. After 10 seconds of drain, I still had about 15 mv in there. 45 seconds -- still at 5 mv. I then went and ran the car to see if my idle had reset it self to a new 'state.' It had not lost what ever...

    resetting the PCM / ECU...?

Chuck's the man. What I've done in addition is to pull the 3 PCM plugs. Might not be necessary, but it completely isolates the PCM from any wiring. As Chuck indicates, use a drain wire from the positive post to a good ground to drain off any capicitance remaining. You can see it drain off with a...

    NorCal Viper Club floor mats

My Lloyds are almost 4 years old now so I guess I can't really vouch for current QC or standards. Except for the snake and Viper logo, the carpeted portion of the mat is holding up very well. I bought the Norcal mats a little over 8 years ago and ran them for almost 5 years and 51,000 miles...

    NorCal Viper Club floor mats

The NorCal mats are nice, but to say the Lloyds are complete garbage is just not true. I've had both. I found the construction and materials to be about equal, with the Lloyds actually being a little better fit. The problem with both sets is that the Viper head is right where my heel rests...so...

    1999-2002 ACR?

I agree with all but the ride part. I actually like the stiffer ride. To each his own. About 77 of us would disagree with this assertion ;)
