I am not cutting down your M1, if you like it better - use it. Your API no.s are S = spark motivated, N = latest emmisions standard. M L and J are older standards. All oils have to have the applicable API to be for your vehicle. Some vehicles, older ones, only need M, or even J - it depends...
In reading your above forum ; billy bobs oil discussion; I see two things - It's all about price and base oils, however, you must know that the base stock is like the flour in a cake mix, it is only a very small part of the finished product. It's not the base stock that gets used up over time...
lol. NP That last bit was just a cheap shot at the Z06. Cost is definitely a factor in your reasoning and that's great. Myself I basically spare no expense and will probably do the oil 2 or 3 more times before winter - along with the tranny and diff, but to each his own. Yes I do sell...
Ok you're not going to use Amsoil -fair enough. As far as testing goes, it doesn't matter who does it as the results and testing process are displayed for all to see so if anyone has a problem with it they will react and dispute it. Amsoil can't illustrate false claims against other brands or...
Ok, so you buy a $100,000.00 car and you are not willing to spend a few more dollars on basically the best oil you can put in it? You save about $60.00 on an oil change. Sounds like it's minivan time. Sorry man, but I just can't believe you would skimp on such a great vehicle. Mobil 1 is...
Idk but the Mopar stuff is still just a conventional oil and doesn't even compare to the synthetics. Run the Ams and report back - you WILL notice a difference in how nice it shifts and feels, and you're doing your tranny a great service with it running a little cooler. I'm dumping my Royal...
Factory fill in those trannys is ATF +4 in a Dodge, Mercon V in a ford, and Dex III for any Chevs. My GT500 version called for the Mercon V and there was a sticker on the tranny indicating use only Dex III. The Amsoil covers all of them.
Put the Amsoil in your transmission as well and chime in. I know you will be impressed. Its the Amsoil ATF full synthetic Multi-vehicle. Dont use the low viscosity stuff, its for Dex VI in the chevs.
I changed the oil in the transmission and diff. today. The diff. was quite dirty and the transmission oil was a little cloudy. Now I have Royal Purple in the diff and Amsoil Synthetic ATF in the trans. What a difference. The transmission shifts a lot nicer and it will run a little cooler...
Definitely fix the o-rings, but I doubt that's the problem. There's not enough fuel leaking to starve the engine. If your engine wasn't getting fuel or a lack of it, the idle should be always low and rough. Your idle is all over the place. Is it new enough that a scan tool can be plugged in...
I know I'll take some heat, especially from free 2 "leave" but here goes. Why are you buying a car that you are so scared of?! Everyone seems to be petrified about touching the gas on these things. It's a Viper, not a top fuel dragster. If you can't handle it than buy a minivan. Once you...
You are definitly right when you say the 2013 GT500 is still worth almost what they were selling for new, but I think its more because it's the end of an entire breed with the big 5.8l supercharged motor - we will never see another 5.8 in a Mustang because they simply won't fit. This has made...
Once we supercharge the Gen V and "even" the playing field and compare supercharged, but otherwise stock cars, than there will be no questions about who is king or whether an automatic is faster than the stick. This is one of the main reasons I bought a Viper because it still has incredible...
