Better make sure you can remove them easily without too much trouble. If they are illegal where you are and the police can detect you have a radar detector, they will probably make you remove it on the spot. Just Sayin.
Sounds like Dick will be the person to answer all these questions - motor and chassis. I think 1100 hp will be the number to shoot for without having to make motor or chassis mods and still not be too crazy as to pull the car apart. I don't plan on beating my car into the ground - I've never...
From what I know, the Gen V motor is internally stronger than the Gen IV motor. So we might be able to predict with reasonable accuracy, using experiments and real world upgrade data from people who have modded their Gen IV engines, just how much the Gen V will take. If that tiny thin top ring...
Yah I agree. I thought it was going to be more of a head to head battle not a total trashing of the cars. The tire smoking was cool. So, if you could, would you by a Z06 or a Hellcat to play around with?
Sounds good. So putting this all together. If we stick with 6 psi for now until testing reveals a higher/safe limit as far as longevity goes, then the trick will be to maximize air flow to move as much as possible and to not exceed 6psi . High flow cats are included, but maybe off road...
I was looking at the specs. for the supercharger kit that will be available in 2016. It refers to having 900 BHP at 6 pounds boost. Apparently the Gen V motor and chassis is already built for this gain, so, my question is - how much boost, and power, can we get away with on a stock motor and...
Travelled 170 kms at 200 - 220kms/hr in my 2012 Grande Sport to get my 2014 Viper. Did the same speed coming home in the Viper. The Viper was a little stiffer, but held the road better I thought. Way less road noise in the Viper. The car handled great, motor was great. This a highway car...
Quick question. Have you tried doing your test with no air filter or with an aftermarket one. I'm not sure how much air this motor will process at high RPM's , but there might be a bottle neck there. I would think it could move more than 500 CFM wide open and I seriously doubt that stock...
Thankyou Jack. I'm thinking then the best way to go would be the maintain the stock airbox, however, replace the air filter element itself with a superior flowing one. Amsoil perhaps or AFE if and when they are availabe.
Great! Thankyou for the info. Have you guys experimented with changing the airbox at all. This particular stock one appears to be pretty good already. Any comments?
A couple of quick questions.
1 Why do you have to have an SRT dealer change out the controller. Can you not simply remove it from the trunk and plug your new one in. What else, if anything, has to be done?
2 I thought we couldn't tune the stock computer, that's why we are buying the arrow...
Do you think they might go so far as to have a setup like SCT where you could have a new tune E mailed to you and then you could install the new tune yourself.
Is this unit going to have a preset aftermarket tune. Will I be able to purchase/aquire other tunes and download them onto it? I would like to have a new tune now and then when the supercharger kit is ready to go in 2016, be able to modify it accordingly.
