OH, thanks to being a member and receiving that wonderful viper magazine. I used the Ipod installation guide in the second to last issue to dissemble my shifter and radio bezel. Very easy to follow.
The texture is amazing. It feels like a carbon fiber weave in person. I don't know if you can see it but when the light hits it, the highlight area is gray just like real carbon fiber and the rest stays black. It comes pretty close, enough for me to do it. Although I wish the weave was as big as...
And easier way to accomplish this is you put the green knifeless tape on the edge of your existing stripes. Then you put the vinyl over it then you can use the knifeless tape to cut the vinyl on top without cutting it before or figuring out how to cut. It will be exactly like your old stripes...
Thanks, I did the wrap myself. It's time consuming. I bought a 8ft x 5ft sample from http://autovinylsolutions.com/3M_Black_Carbon_Fiber_Vinyl so I could wrap different things:
when my battery goes bad I spend $100 to get a new one. Not $8000+ for the Tesla. Telsa along with all the other electric cars has a bigger carbon footprint than the Viper ever will. The proper disposal/dismantling of a battery or batteries for these electric cars is horrible. Public is mislead...
ah ok I see. why would there be a lip if it was painted usually painted stripes don't have a lip like that pronounced. Is it just the quality of work? Cause I have seen superformance kit cars with stripes and they don't have a "lip". It's super smooth
I knew the Gen II's are painted. Is there a possibility that some first editions were vinyl? Cause I saw two and they were both vinyl white stripes but they also had the interior plaque and steering etc to prove they were vinyl. I ran my finger across and it was obivously vinyl all the way...
HAHA, I hope you got enough vinyl in case you mess up it took me 8 hours the first time and 4 different attempts. There tricks that you learn as you go. The vinyl will not go down into the cup holder as you can see in my last pic. you can either cut it short like I did my cigarette thing will go...
The original stripes on the gen III's are all vinyl. Correct me if I'm wrong guys most of the first editions and the various striped gen III's have been vinyl in my experience.
I wanted to show a comparison of the 3m Dinoc vinyl vs the 3m 1080 series vinyl. The back story for this is the first one I wrapped was a 08 console and bezel I wrapped it 3 times learning different techniques. I used the 3m dinoc material. I have an 06 coupe so when I was installing it I...
GTS-R's are real but there are some that are dipped in fake carbon fiber paint it's called hydrodipping like the stock viper center console which looks horrible it's like a painted carbon fiber. I can wrap it for you which is a good alternative to the fake paint and not as expensive as the real...
I can wrap your existing kick plates for a lot less with Carbon Fiber 3m Dinoc vinyl! send me your kick plates $100 you pay for shipping..I'm going to do mine this weekend and I will post pics
The spring rates are like the motons, interesting. Could I track with these? Dampening adjustment? Do you sell the shocks if one blows separately and how much do you charge for it?
I was wondering if any of you guys are going to C&C tomorrow morning. My cousin just joined the Viper family he just purchased a All Gray 09 ACR. He's super excited to see some of the other viper guys out there tomorrow. Hopefully there will be a good turnout.
I just called him cause I wasn't sure if he was still selling it..
he said he wants to advertise it for $46,000 I told him that might be too much so I got him down to $43,500 and he said that's lowest he is willing to take on it. Do you think that's a good price?
