Are the '96 GTS rims Aluminum?
I found this guide to strip the clearcoat for cheap? Is it a good winter project?

My rims look like crap! I bought them somebody must have used a chrome polish on them by mistake or did something wrong. I've got 7 pictures to try and show you what they look like.
What's the most cost effective way to fix this? I don't want new rims, at least I can't really afford them...

Just wondering where people got their new rims. I'm looking to possibly upgrade due to the clearcoat leaving it really ****ty. I think the previous owner must have used chrome cleaner and it really looks bad. I saw the "Ultimate Wheel guide" thread but there aren't any local retailers in...
It looks like the previous owner of my car used a polish that left a milky residue because of the clearcoat. What's the best thing to make them look better. Thanks
Mark
I've recently been smelling it also on my '96. It very well could be the clutch. Could it be anything else? Should it be replaced or does that just seem to happen?
I've got a '96 GTS and wondering what intake and filter I should get. I've heard K&N's intake, when dyno'ed, actually worsened the performance of the car. Is this true? Which are the good brands, etc... Thanks.
I'm all for the Gold. Maybe a little darker.. But to make them look good, incorporate some of that same color into other parts of the car. One guy mentioned stripes. I'm not saying go overboard with your whole interior or anything like that, but just little things could really make that color...
I have a 96 GTS and I know they put a clear coat on it. I'm wondering what people use to keep them as clean looking as possible. Thanks.
PS: I know this should be in the 'tires' section, but not enough people view that.
I got pulled over yesterday(still have temporary license plates) so nothing wrong. Of course I had Styx - Renegade playing when he came up to the door.
I'm sure this has been done before, but I couldn't find anything. I have a 96 GTS. I'm wondering if we could form a list of different modifications people have, how many HP it adds, cost(estimate on labor). Or if it's cosmetic if somebody could take a picture. I think it'd be cool to see...
I've got a Corsa exhaust(bought it with) and love it. I'm just wondering what most people have, what are the differences(I hear Borla is deeper sounding), any HP differences?, etc...
Thanks.
I talked to the dealer today, and he forgot it so he's sending it. Thanks for all the help guys. I just washed it and got her looking beautiful. *sigh*
I got the pedals up, couldn't have been any easier and worked wonders. I barely move up my seat anymore if I really want control. They were set all the way back which explains it. I really had to thrust to get the seat up the notches. This car is now officially perfect:)
I recently got a '96 GTS. I love it! The only problem I've had is that I'm around 5'8". I'm also not a small guy (215lb). Not grossly overweight, but I'm not boney. I don't have much problems getting in or out(if i move the seat back). However, I sometimes struggle to get my seat up close...
