Hex Head Bolts or Allen Head bolts on header flanges?

I know to remove the standard bolts were a pain in the butt and time consuming as I was not able to get a socket onto all of them. You know the drill, 1/8 of a turn with the wrench, take it off and turn it ½ a turn and so on. I ended up putting my headers back on using grade 8 Allen Bolts...

Gen 2 Stryker times at Edmonton Budweiser Park

Hey Ron, I was in Peru for 4 months and maybe heading back this week so I might miss the BBQ but if I’m around I will be there for sure. The 550 HP was before I bumped up my compression this winter so I should be maybe another 15 or 20 HP higher or even more. I can feel the difference so I...

Mopar Lock and Sealant. or Blue Loctite ?

For the Aligning Yoke Assembles that hold the lifters in place, they call for Mopar Lock and Sealant. Can Blue Loctite be used as a replacement? Thanks Tim

    Experience with aftermarket knock sensors?

A standalone unit for detection would be good. A unit to dial out timing would be better but may not be realistic or even practical.

I'm looking as well. Anyone used any of the aftermarket knock sensors?

Hex Head Bolts or Allen Head bolts on header flanges?

What’s everyone using on the 2 bolt and 3 bolt collector flanges on the Belanger headers? Is it any easier to install and take off with Allen Heads over a Hex head Bolts? (the hex heads are a pain...............) Stainless Steel with some Copper Coat High Temp Anti Seize should make for easy...

Piston swap for the cream puff

A question on the deck height. With a deck height of .040 and a gasket of around .045 for the gold gasket, that would give a guy .085 quench. I have read that a lot of the recommendations are that most engines should be with a quench of around the .045 mark. Would our V10 do better with...

Degreeing the cam and margin for error?

Gents, I going to be checking my cam timing and wondering what’s acceptable for error either advanced or retarded before changing? What is the power loss or gain on 1/2 deg off from suggested centerline? Thanks Tim

modifying the front aluminum brace in the motor compartment?

Anyone have any experience modifying the front aluminum brace that is between the motor and the radiator that is used to brace the fender wells down to the frame? I have the front end apart to re degree the cam and the heads off and I know it’s going to be a bxxxx to put back into place when...

    Buying an ACR-X

Our children will be around but most of us won’t be around to enjoy any major appreciation in Value over the next 30 or 40 yrs. Drive it and enjoy it and have fun while you’re here. There are better things to buy for long term investments.

Degree the cam w or wo the heads?

I don’t have a modified push rod length adjuster so pulling the heads is probably the best as I’m sure I would be compressing the lifter to some extent. I will make sure that I’m on the intake lobe as it’s probably easier to mix that one up when the heads are off then when there on. Does anyone...

Degree the cam w or wo the heads?

What’s the most accurate way to degree the cam, with the heads on or off? They’re coming off any way to bump up the compression so for me it’s no big deal. Thanks Tim

advantages and disadvantages to running ARP Head studs

How tight do you torque the studs to? Then the nuts on top are torque to the 90’ pds in 2 steps? And I assume I can re use the nuts when I disassemble the top end again? So far I don’t see any negatives here. Thanks Tim
