advantages and disadvantages to running ARP Head studs

Are the gaskets and then the heads put on, studs torqued into place then the nuts torqued up? Can the studs and nut’s be reused multiple times or should they be replaced after a couple of installations? Thanks Tim

advantages and disadvantages to running ARP Head studs

It looks like I will be pulling my heads again and making some more changes. So, what are the advantages and disadvantages to running ARP Head studs versus using the head bolts? What type of metal are they made from as of course we would not want corrosion from dissimilar metals? I will be...

You really don't want cruise ...

Every vehicle I have had that has had cruise and it's engaged on a slippery surface will apply throttle to maintain speed and you will go sideways. Even in my 2004 Dodge Ram 4*4 1 ton locked up or in 2 wheel drive will spin out on ice or snow and will take off sideways. The Viper would be a...

Chrysler Announces 1.9% Financing On Dodge Viper for 60 Months

Is the financing at the suggested retail price? If so then it may not be the deal it seems. If we can still get the rebates and discounts then it’s a deal but historically that has never been the case. Normally it is one or the other and never both. In the past it has been better to deal in...

    708 Cam in Creampuff

There are better cams that will make more power and sound better but the more you deviate from stock there will be drivability issues. Yes the tuning helps but based on my experience as well as others, off idle and at lower rpm there will be issues with surging and bucking. Tim

    Viper on Propane?

The company I had worked for back in the 80’s were on this propane kick and gave me a new 89 F150 converted to run on propane and gas (dual conversion). Here in Canada in the winter in did not start at all on propane at minus 25 or colder as the gas was almost liquid at that temp. We had to...

Stability Control and my 2009 SRT crash

30 mph or 130 mph it can happen in a nano second in a Viper. With the torque, short wheel base, a little bit of sand or dust or leaves etc on the road, tires and or road colder than normal, older rubber with a harder durometer, pavement damp, ruts in the pavement or being a little wash board is...

Any performance to be gained from corsa exhaust?

While you’re at it, drop the factory cats and put in some hi flow cats. The car is cooler inside and way more comfortable to drive and your feet aren’t cooking as well it frees up some more ponies. I’ve done that with both my Gen 1 and Gen 2 and it was by far the best decision I had made on the...

Red Deer Viper cruise nite- every night

No, not this one there as of yet. With the temps around 30 here the Density Alt has been hovering close to 5000ft asl. Once the nights start cooling off I will take it there for better times.

Red Deer Viper cruise nite- every night

Hey Ron, I have the Trophy for 1st place in the Real Street Shoot Out Class. Pulled 8.11 to 8.22 over 5 runs. Each run was a little slower than the previous. The track was up hill, 10 mph head wind with temperatures of 27 deg giving us a density altitude of 5000 ft. 1st gear was useless, and...

Slide-Loc Cabinets, any one using them?

Hey Tony thanks for the feedback. I'm looking to buy some decent cabinets for the garage for the normal stuff like paints, 1/2 drive drills, saws, gauges etc. I probably would not want to load up one cabinet with too much stuff. Maybe I am better off with Ulti-Mate or some else? Thanks Tim

Help: RT10 Soft top vibrating at 80 mph

Here in Canada most of our driving is in the cold so the top is on most of the days. But when heading into BC it is nice to take the soft top and use it to get to the warm weather. To keep it under 80 mph when passing is almost impossible. I could try starching it and see...........

Help: RT10 Soft top vibrating at 80 mph

On my 2002 RT10 on anything much over 80 mph the canvas on my soft top starts vibrating. Then by 90 to 100 mph I have to back off before the top vibrates right out of there. Eg (This is similar to holding a blade of grass between your thumbs and blowing on it). Any suggestions on how I can...

Any paint tips for the garage?

Hey guys I am looking for tips on painting the walls (drywall) and roof in my garage. It is about 10 yrs old and has a flat white paint on the walls and probably is the standard stuff that they used back then. I have had some estimates with anything from using Oil Base and spraying on over...
