2003 Driver's Door Trim at Window

This issue is likely very common, so for future readers of this thread... Everyone’s experiences in life are different, but the specific tape that I referenced, Scotch Mount Extreme, will absolutely stick and stay in place. And if trimmed properly before installation it will be an invisible...

    Aftermarket exhaust question

Their website shows $1199 factory direct. It comes with installation instructions, also viewable on their website. It looks like a simple task if you are mechanically inclined and have the time. I was not either of those things back then so I took it to my Viper tech at the dealership and had...

    Aftermarket exhaust question

The two side exhausts are connected to one another via an H-Pipe that goes roughly through the center of the car under the cabin. If you upgrade to a Borla Cat Back exhaust the H-Pipe is deleted, and yes I did find a huge difference in cabin temperature with that, and the side skirts are now...

    Continental Tires vs Michelins

Have you found a set of Continentals in the sizes that you need? I have not seen them as a match / option in the factory fit tire sizes for my Gen III. So of course I have no experience with Continentals. But I have had many sets of Michelin Pilot Sports and Super Sports and I like them a lot!

2003 Driver's Door Trim at Window

It is a part of the door panel itself, it is not sold separately. Black double sided tape works extremely well and without any drama. If you trim it to be less wide than the metal door strip it will be an invisible repair. Scotch Mount Extreme is what I used.

    Vanity Plate

I wouldn’t concern myself with Tree Huggers, specifically. It’s a Viper, meaning it’s a very nice car that some “rare” idiot will be jealous of and want to cause stupid damage to - like keying it. And there is really nothing you can do to prevent it, unfortunately. BTW, if I were to see FOSL...

Noise from the rear end in SRT 10

This is classic and related to the Friction Modifier in most cases. As mentioned it was either not added at a fluid change or it just degraded over time and use. Congratulations on getting it sorted out! Race cars? Anyway, my car has no such clunk when I engage or disengage the clutch for...

Noise from the rear end in SRT 10

If you are using a mechanic for this but you are here looking for advice to share with him, you need a new mechanic. Unfortunately I have no idea about an answer to your question, I’ve never put mine up on a rack and wiggled the wheels, it may be completely normal. Others here will likely...

Noise from the rear end in SRT 10

Did you have the differential fluid changed recently? Does it sound like the dif is grinding metal? If so then they did not add the (required) tiny bottle of Friction Modifier. Get them to change it again but add the Modifier this time. If it was fine and this appeared out of nowhere...

    Trunk shocks

Why would you not think to call the parts guy at your local Dodge dealership to order a set? If they are NLA s/he will give you the correct part number and you can look online. I bought a set a couple of years ago at the dealership, no big deal.

    Convertible Top Glass Lamination Repair?

Yes, the Super Glue route is all that I found on the Internet. This is far more common on Jaguars it seems, their owners were using 3M WindowWeld with clamps securing it as it set overnight. But it didn’t always last very long so one guy tried Rhino Glue (super glue) and that (like JB Weld I’m...

    Convertible Top Glass Lamination Repair?

Has the subject of the rear glass coming unglued from the canvas top along the edges ever come up on the forums? The top comes from the factory with the glass “heat laminated” to the canvas top, I am told, but I can’t seem to locate a company that can redo that. There are upholstery shops that...

    Street tires

Just to clarify, those mileage warranties are accurate, but they only apply to cars that wear four of the same size tires and they must be rotated on a specific schedule and have it documented. For staggered applications, as in the Viper, that warranty is cut by half. Not sure what you mean by...

    Service Engine Light is on

I’m not sure if this works on your MY but it works on my ‘04; and in the comments for the video it works on another 1998 Dodge so hopefully your car has this feature. Just follow the simple instructions and make a note of the Code that comes up on your display. Then find out what that code...

Low speed overheat, but not at idle

BIB. Not the way you wrote it, no. The thermostat will not open to allow the coolant in the engine and separately in the radiator to flow together until it reaches X° of temperature (whatever is specified for your car). Once open it won’t close (or should not close) until the coolant...

Low speed overheat, but not at idle

Thermostats “fail” to open, their normal status when not in use is the closed position and they open when a given temperature is reached. That said, your does seem to be opening but perhaps not consistently. I would replace it. Boiling over coolant? It’s not supposed to actually reach the...

1st Time Gen 2 buyer - Need Advice

I would agree with Robert. It’s so new to you that it’s probably best to trailer it home and then sort the things that age: change all fluids (trans, oil, differential, coolant), put in a new battery if yours is over two years old, give it a basic tune of plugs and wires, check the hoses for...

    New Old Stock Tires. Safe?

That observation would be much more meaningful if you had put a fresh set of the same tires and noticed a great improvement. My concern is running a car up to 150+ MPH on ten year old tires, even if they do look very good.

    New Old Stock Tires. Safe?

How would I contact Luke? I’ve contacted literally everyone. The Pilot Super Sports are sold out and won’t be made again for another month, perhaps 30 days after that they will be available. But I don’t have much confidence that anyone I spoke with, even several at Michelin, know anything...

    New Old Stock Tires. Safe?

I decided against them, I really just want new tires as in ‘New’, not NOS that’s been sitting in a dirty family garage all these years without climate control. The manufacturers all dispute that age of the tires is related to accidents involving tires, but they do all note that proper storage...

    New Old Stock Tires. Safe?

A friend has offered me a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sports at about half price. I’m sort of concerned with their age though, they were manufactured in 2012. These have never been mounted or inflated, stickers are still on them. The “Regulators” around the globe say six years is the max...

    1994 viper

If it’s been an ongoing issue the following will not apply, but if the ‘nothing works’ started after you changed or disconnected the battery then it might. This is just a SWAG, but the alarm can do that (shut everything off), especially if the car was locked (alarm activated) when you changed...

    Front thumb screws

On the Gen III there are two of those (or very similar) that secure the lower portion of the air intake clam shell. I snapped one off and replaced them both with a metal version from my local full stock hardware store. Once I did I had instant regret and bought the OEM plastic version. I...

Bubbling Paint - Rocker Panel - Fire Hazard and Design Flaw

A quick Goggle search and you will find others that have experienced this issue, although it seems most just complain of yellowing not full on melting. But those pieces are supposed to have heat shield material laminated to the back of them and for some cars, miraculously not all, it is...
