Proud new owner with questions of course

Its funny, I have dealt with many lubricants over the years and what is good for one car many not be good for another. Believe it or not Mopar has done a fairly good job with its lubricants. Some race lubricants are good for racecars but not for streetcars. I have been a victim of "snake oils"...

Use 10w30 or 15w50 if you track. 0w40 is for the later cars.

How often should Tranny fluid be changed on semi-monthly track car.

If you run more than 30 minute sessions that ATF can get too hot. It does shift better with the thinner fluid though. Take a fluid sample, if the ATF is turning brown then it needs to be changed. With three track events I would change it out. The later cars used Syntorque, it is a thicker fluid...

Front end pop, what could it be?

90% of the time this is the ball joints. They wont show any sign of play and lubing them does not seem to help. When they are removed and inspected there is a ridge on the ball surface. Replace them on the side that makes the noise and you will be fine.

    Need Header Recommendations

For the street on a Gen 2 the Belanger most likely will give you the best midrange power. Best usable power for the street. I you are running a big cam I would go with the merge header like the ARH or B and B.

2008 Coupe Brakes: Stoptech AeroRotor DRK vs. OEM 2008-2010 ACR Rotor

If you track your car hard then I have found the Brembo Rotor and Hat combination will cool better and last longer under extreme conditons. These rotors will save you 7pds per wheel, which is a pound more than the ST's, so they cool better with less mass. They are a little less than double the...

    Can't calibrate a speedometer with a SCT?

Very good points. Besides the Mopar controller there really is no reliable "power adding calibration" for the 08-10 models. The only time where calibration work is needed is when the engine is modifed. Cam changes, superchargers and turbochargers require a new programmable engine management system.

    Viper Car Cover... Which one...?

California Car Cover sells a cloth cover with a soft felt type lining on the inside. Its a very durable cover and breathes well. I use it on cars that I need to store outside overnight. It is not good for wet weather. I like it because its soft, wears well, washes well and is really easy on the...

Ideas on possible fuel system upgrade

The earlier pump has the fuel filler breather hose routed into the top of the module. The later cars had the breather hose routed into the top of fuel tank. One important point to consider that Chris mentioned earlier, the pump has a dual function, one is to fill the pump bucket and the other is...

    Camber adjustment bolts

This is pretty common, more so on track cars that have many alignments done. You might consider changing to shims like we use on the race cars (Comp Coupe and ACRX). They are sold by Dodge Motorsports and most likely available through the VPA.

    Where to buy huge cam???

For a Gen 1, these cars work well up to about 550hp, past the brakes and driveline does not work well without modifications. The geometry and weight of the suspension does not lend well to lots of torque, so a hp balance is good. Stock the Gen 1 puts out about 360 to the wheels, 500rwhp is the...

    New AEM Infinity 10 ecu?!

    Great Products for your interior

In regards to your interior, there are two products Mopar makes that work very well. In the past I have found other products are "greasy" or leave a film. Satin Select Interior treatment PN 5174395AA This stuff works great on dashes and anything plastic or Vinyl Leather and Vinyl conditioner...

    Ported Intake Gen 4

We did quite a bit of testing on the Gen 4 manifolds, we tried numerous things including welding, reshaping the ports and shortening the runner length. We dyno tested all these options and found a point of diminishing returns. There was a point were we gained hp and lost torque. The biggest...
