The common practice in the past for most engine builders was to change to the earlier Viper (1992-1999) low bleed lifter when doing a top end build. These lifters were an advantage over the later high bleed lifters as they provided more valve lift throughout the rpm range and were less likely to...
The lifter set is for a complete engine (20). I have not had any issue with the Harland Sharp Rockers. When they first came out there was an issue with the adjuster that was corrected (2003 I think). It is critical they are adjusted properly and the lock nut torqued. If your lifters are bad and...
For years we have battled with poor quality highly expensive production lifters for the Viper. Our only choice was to bush the lifter bores and use a smaller diameter Chevrolet performance lifter. This was highly expensive and not practical for 90% of our customers. The only real choice was to...
When replacing the oil cooler lines, replace the fittings as well. I have been using the factory lines, but aftermarket AN lines and fittings will be a better fix.
Most likely the little black fitting is just the vent for the starter motor. It allows any moisture to escape from the motor.
The...
I am finding Gen 1 parts harder and harder to get. I currently have 1994 Viper in the shop with a bad fuel gauge sending unit (gas gauge does not work). The sending unit is no longer available new and is only serviced with the fuel pump. The fuel pump is a $1300 part from the dealer and about...
This is a common problem, it shows up more on the silver and gray Vipers. If one side is more discolored than the other you may have an issue with the converter. There also may be a defect with the sill insulation. We install vents in the side panels. This most likely will correct the problem...
I have known Sean since 1996 and have had to work through some technical issues with him. He has always been professional and always stands behind his product. Great service.
You may have an issue with the low-to high side (expansion valve- reduction tube) pressure. Best to have an AC shop check it out. Its a simple test to diagnose and should cost you less than $100 (plus Freon if needed)
We did quite a bit of testing on the early Vipers and found the best increase in power was from adding smooth inlet tubes and K&N Filters. 12hp was the average for this combination, repeatable from car to car. The ACR model used this same system later in 1999.
We had a great turnout for our Dyno day a couple of weeks ago. We had over 40 Vipers show up, plus two Drag Pack Challengers and an ACRX.
Everyone had a great time, we tested 22 cars in total. Top dog was Rick Hollis with 852rwhp from his Gen 2 daily driver.
Suggest you drain the power steering system and then flush it several times. Most likely you will need to change the power steering hose, it is more than the o-rin g. The fitting needs to be replaced and it must be done with the hose, you cannot replace it separately.
There is a TSB to reprogram the engine controller for spark knock for your year model. Most likely it is worse now because this is the time of years they change from winter to summer fuel blend.
Re: What Is The Lightest Streetable Clutch Available for Use with an Aluminum Flywhee
If needed we can make the new Mc Leod clutch work for any Gen, we just supply it with a new flywheel and modify the stack.
For those of you you do not know Jerry. Its is amazing what he has done with the "stock block" SRT10. Just bolts on's and he is in the 11's. This is no easy feat.
I found that the adjustable links are best when setting up a car that has been lowered and is weighted with the driver in the car. Was your car setup like this?

Re: What Is The Lightest Streetable Clutch Available for Use with an Aluminum Flywhee
I agree with Dan, I too have had issues with Spec and Balance. I send ours out to be matched. My best luck has been with the new Mc Leod twins. We tested these extensively on the ACRX and ACR track cars, with...
