Anyone running these for Auto-X?
I have read that after the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Competition Tires heat up they have good grip. My question is...would these tires be a good choice for auto-x? Will they grip well enough starting cold and only getting heat into them from a short trip around...
What aftermarket cams would you recommend? I was planning on keeping the conservative stock compression ratio. My goal is to pick up some HP without sacrificing drivability (i.e. keep low end power and not stall at idle.)
What are good lift and duration #'s?
Should you go with a slightly...
Has anyone exchanged a 96-98 cam in a 00-02? Does it fit right in? What were the results?
Also, I have heard that the hydraulic lifters in 00-02 are "softer" in the 00-02, has anyone changed them over as well?
Yea Jason, I guess I'll have to change my user name. My 99 is out cruising the roads of CA. I love the ABS brakes on the 02. The graphite color has got a lot of compliments. Although I must admit, I still am a big fan of the bright silver in 98-99. Even though I have the 02 I still miss the 99...
I did a side-pipe conversion on my 99 RT/10. I wrapped the cat with header heat-tape starting at the bend before the cat and ending at the muffler. This reduced the sill temp and the temp in the car.
How much RWHP Gain on 00-02 with cat-back or rear muffler delete?
I have heard that with the lack of cam overlap the RWHP gains are less than 99 and older cars with exhaust mods. I am planning on modifying the exhaust anyway and was wondering what I should expect on the dyno. (Note: I am using...
"I recommend drilling a 1/2" hole just behind the pcm and 1" below the main wiring harness. Be sure to get a 1/2" grommet.
In my opinion this is easier and better than slitting the clutch boot and is an option per the instructions. Take your time and it will take 1.5 hrs. then the next one you...
Just like yourself, I wanted better handling but I did not want to get beat up on the street.
I upgraded my 99 RT/10 with the Koni ACR Shocks and love them for aggressive street driving and AutoCross. The factory spring rates in 99 were 200 lb/inch front and 400 lb/inch rear. The Koni ACR's are...
Park your car on some flat cement. Measure the car from the bottom of the frame to the ground just behind the front wheel. Stock is 5 inches. I've heard from several sources that you do not want to exceed lowering more than 3/4 inch. Therefore you do not want to be below 4.25 inch in the front...
I had my 99 stall out while driving about 25 MPH. The car just died. It would then turn over but would make no attempt to fire. I had the car towed to the dealer and it ended up being a bad crank sensor. Good luck.
Re: Heffner\'s Performance
Count me in for any cruising. I've been to a few auto-cross events lately and I am planning on going to Boeing's next event July 28th. (The Viper kicks major a$$ in auto-cross... even in tight courses!!! God I love this car!)
I have not decided yet about VIR.
Re: Heffner\'s Performance
Jason did exhaust work and Dyno work for me also. He did excellent work for a fair price. I too like the fact that Jason let me hang out and watch while he did the work. It is neat to see the car apart and ask him questions.
Just wanted to clarify. The shocks I purchased were used. They were off of a early 2000 ACR.
I was told only a few of the Koni ACR Vipers had rattle issues.
If you have any rattles, Chuck Tator can help you out.
I just installed a set of the Koni ACR shocks for my 99 RT-10. No rattles at all. I went to my first autoX this past weekend. The Koni ACR shocks are so much tighter than the old shocks...SWEET!
Re: What\'s with my fuel gauge??
I thought that I was going to run out of fuel this past Saturday. I was at the Englishtown AutoX and drag event. I was so focused on driving that I was not paying attention to the gas gage. I finally looked at the gage at the drag strip starting line and it was...
I live in Rising Sun MD (a couple of miles from the PA-MD state line). If you're driving up on Friday evening I could meet you at the intersection of RT-10 and Rt-30.
