I went through this exact failure mode on my 2005, passenger side window. Smooth all the way down, or up, except at the very end, when it made a loud screeching noise.
For me, it was the regulator that failed, right at the joint between the track and the white plastic sleeve (see the picture)...
Thanks for that Diagram, but it's still not matching the actual colors found on the hardware. If I simply trial and error apply 12V to the different pin combos directly to the motor, do I risk messing up the the Hall Effect sensors if I put 12V through the pins not going to the motor?
