I have heard something similar, but even their V710 arent all that fast from my experience, at least not compared to a slick. They are somewhere between a Hoosier A6 and R6. So thinking they made a treaded real street tire faster than a true slick seems like a reach but even at better than R6...

Need to broaden my horizons........
Haven't had the opportunity to track a Viper yet but will soon in a friends Gen IV ACR race car.
That 1:26 at Road Atlanta is as fast as the Gen IV ACR-X on slicks. The speed of this thing is unbelievable. 120 mph through turn 12 at Road Atlanta on road tires is unfathomable. Shows how much DF the car is pushing. Many top sports cars are just now catching up with the 2010 ACR, and now...
GRM UTCC..........
A few rags tested it yesterday and today. They will be leaving it and a driver behind to compete in the Grassroots Motorsports UTCC. There will be Andy Lally, Ben Keating, and Chris Winkler there. Ben should be driving his Tudor/Lemans car. Should be interesting, if you...
The GT3 RS is not Turbo. And I'm sure Randy did not include the Viper ACR as it's not even out yet. That being said, the GT3 still resembles modern day race cars more than the Viper. Modern race cars almost all come equipped with paddles and more nannies than you can shake a stick at...
There is no other track manufacturers will ship their cars to that tests a car like the nurburgring. Every manufacturer has enough tracks in their own country to test on, there is NOTHING like the nurburgring out there. The closest would be Sebring IMO because of it's roughness. The...
Pirelli's are well faster than R6 without a doubt. The Continental slicks did not have the NASA Non DOT penalty even though they have no grooves because they are slow. Hoosier slicks are widely considered the slowest non DOT full slick. Pirelli's are phenomenal and NASA will absolutely...
I'm still in shock the guy in the (Honda?) took the shortcut through the pit exit to pass the other one that looked just like it. He/She should've been booted from the track for that.
At a track like Mid-Ohio, Pirelli slicks will likely be more than 2 seconds faster than R7's. It really is...
I know, but not the same, especially considering the high note Viper racing went out on last year. Incredible job they did in a couple of years from upstarts to champions. Still pulling for Keating and company though.
Best car news of the last year. Can't wait to see this bad boy in action. I hope SRT does another lap record tour with it. That would be awesome.
Really sucks that the Viper racing program isn't still up.
I think it needs to be noted as well that VIR was repaved at the end of 2013, and is now 2-3+ seconds faster (on the shorter 2:00 full course) than it was when the ACR tested. Were the ACR to test on this couse (grand course) it would be in the 2:43-2:45 range.
The ACR is still a beast, will...
I bet the auto is slower on the highway. Remember that torque converter is sucking up way more power than a manual. And the top speeds at Road Atlanta are as fast (or slower) as a Porsche 997 GT3 RS. Yes, I meant GT3 RS! The auto is going to be a dog when it overheats.
All Vipers should have been the TA at first, then a vert and a ACR. That would have been the best scenario possible. SRT tried a market strategy that didn't work out as planned. Given what the Vipers are selling for, they are right around where they should have been to start with. Feel for...
That's not the ring, the ring is not a highway. nor is it straight like that. My point to you is that attaching your name to everything (if that is your name) is not a bright idea. Police have busted street racers for internet video posts.
It's easy to forget if you are not a Viper person. I instruct in Vipers on a regular basis, never had a calf burn, but as you mention, I've never had on shorts either while in one (I don't wear shorts to events). For the general population I'm sure it's applicable to an owner as I'm sure some...
FYI, many track day organizers actually allow shorts for DE now, especially when it's hot. I wouldn't count that against them.
What should seriously be taken note of though is if the Viper had those trofeo's it would have been unstoppable. Even the MPSC 2.
I hope thats not your real name while posting street race vids on the internet.
Also is your tach broken? Lots of bouncing off the rev limiter.
You called out the fastest Mustang in South Florida but raced in Germany?
Lol.
Sub 7 for sure. But the internet would explode..
also notice those look like a/r 6 which will soon be replaced by a/r 7 which dont have grooves all the way around. I think the new ones may still meet DOT stamdards though not sure.
Why would they put alcantera, CF trim, airbags, ac and all the creature comforts in car not intended to be street legal.
It's SEMA, they want it to look fierce, mission accomplished. This will be a street legal car when all is said and done. If it wasn't intended to be, they sure wouldn't...
