‘04 Vert Dash Coming Up at the Windscreen

I’ve been dreading to ask about this, but I’ve got a problem with my dash. It is raised up on the passenger side, if I press it gently it just goes down and seems to touch nothing under it. Anyone know what I am facing to repair this? My car still needs the airbag recall part changed out so that may be helpful if the dash needs to come out.

I've got the same issue on my 04. Unfortunately I think it's a full dash out fix. And I don't mean pulling all the plastic trim, I mean the entire metal frame assembly. I had to pull mine to fix an HVAC door and checked out the pad while I was there. It's just glued down with some contact adhesive to a plastic structure under it, so I think it's reasonably repairable, but a pretty significant undertaking. I think some others have just used some foam and pressed it between the dash and the windshield to hold it down too.
