I can't believe that they could only get the viper to sixty in five seconds. I think the slowest I have ever gone to sixty, in my stock gts, is 4.6 seconds. The 0-100 is also very poor, alot of stock cars out there can do the quarter mile in the 11's. I guess the euro versions must be alot slower.

You know. Vipers arent the fastest cars in the world. After all, it is just a Chrysler.

'Euro' snakes are very choked up, mainly due to noise restrictions.

(I of course have gone to the other extreme, and laugh in their face at 125 DB)

This is awful!

According to their test a Ford Mustang did 0-100-0 in 16.51s compared to the Viper at 16.91s.

If I had known that I never would have sold my 94 Mustang!

If you read the article, you'll see that the euro Viper GTS is rated at 382 BHP, or about 325 RWHP. Small wonder that it's so slow in the tests.

Talk about your aftermarket tuning potential, however! Imagine an exhaust swap freeing up 50 RWHP

I wonder what's strangled besides the catback?

Sad that they had to run the Viper choked into Euro-spec though. Also note that they don't have ABS, I guess they ran an older model? Or do they not put ABS on Euro Vipers? Kind of odd that they don't show the model year of these cars, actually.

2001 production numbers may answer that question:

U.S. Coupe 827
U.S. Roadster 825
Canadian Coupe 50
Canadian Roadster 49
BUX (Export) 0 <------

In other word, there are no ABS Vipers in Europe to test.

Actually sort of funny as one of the reasons ABS was added was to win that exact sort of "test".

I'm pretty sure just about any tuner modified 01 (naturally aspirated, supercharged, turbo-charged, or laughing gassed) would have won

Stock '01 ABS car would have likely won as well.....
