08 hood on 05 SRT-10

Where does everyone get the 08 hoods for the gen 3's?
Are they a direct fit bolt on? are there mods needed?

i'm looking to buy one for my 05 vert and I'm wondering what i'm getting myself into..

Parts Rack or Vipair (two places I know of). You might be able to get one from your dealer, but last I heard they were on back order. No mods (that I know of) are needed. They are a direct fit/bolt on.

If you use XVIPERS, be warned and do your homework before ordering from him. Make sure you do a search on this site and the other Viper sites as well. Wouldnt want you to have a bad experience and then you come back and we have to tell you "told you so".

Vipair is not OE and may require fender adjustments to make everything line up. The OE part number for an '08 - '09 Hood is 05030567AD. They retail for $1550 unfinished. Besides the hood and paint, you're going to need about $800 worth of other stuff (seals, silencer/hood pad, grilles w/pins) to make a complete hood assembly. The grilles and pins alone retail for $113 each (there was a price increase on these). The OE hood is a direct replacement on all Gen. III/IV Vipers. No mods are required.
