That was a very cool video....they obviously have a very good suspension setup for drag racing. That sucker launched nice.

Unfortunately, the Zombie is not zero emissions. Somewhere, some how the electricity to recharge the batteries came from some sort of energy. Also, a 12 second run needs about 12 minutes to recharge the packs to full race. So you need 1 minute of recharge time for every second of full throttle.....hmmmm. The biggest tech problem that nobody discusses is not the battery technology, motor technology, etc. It is our power grid. For an electric car to be viable, it has to accept a very fast charge. The amount of current needed to do that cannot be sustained by a normal house wiring system. That would be the most expensive and prohibitive upgrade going to an all electic car setup.

Electric cars are only viable if the source of electricity is from nuclear powerplants....without nuclear power, electric cars will never be a success. Unfortunately, most Americans don't like atomic power.

Cheers,
George

Then we should expect the next "electric car revolutionaries" to come from France. They love their nukes:headbang:

I'd like to know more on how the electric motor is connected to the diff...direct drive or does it use some sort of transmission?? I would think the motor is running out of its torque band at the end of the run with the low trap speeds for its elapse time. Some sort of CVT transmission might make this thing downright scary in both ET's and trap speed.

Just goes to show you how we've developed the worlds technology, yet the French kick our ass when it comes to atomic power....I deal with the French in business, and from what I gather, they would rather have atomic power than give money to the Muslims for oil. Not big fans of that religion.

With atomic power, you could recharge cars all night long (during low electrical demand time) and have a great communter car that would be very efficient.

But, do you really think petroleum and coal lobbyist's would allow their business to drop 25% or more once this went on line?? The biggest opponents to nuclear power isn't the Sierra Club, it's everyone else that would lose business once we go nuclear. They are just very good at using mercenary marketing techniques to make us think the opposition is the eco or green movement (and that nuclear is soooo dangerous).

Cheers,
George
