If I had to pick any year Viper from the Gen 2 era, that is THE car to own, amd I am a GTS fan. But that's a stunner.

Am I the only one that doesn't see the value?

It's just a paint job, and even though there were few, it's still just a paint job.

Am I missing something?

Kinda like Cognac interior.... some like it, some don't. Just a color. But if you add Cognac interior to a car, that didn't have it.... does that make it worth more. No, it has to be that way from the start to have any effect on the value.

When the value of Gen 2 vipers start going up.... there will be no turning back. Just like the old Hemi's.

In the long run there will be a few vipers that draw more money because of what they were to begin with. Just like the GT2's draw more $ because that is the way they came from the factory. I could add all the GT2 stuff to a GTS for much less than what a real GT2 goes for, but that doesn't make it worth what a real GT2 goes for. All vipers will are special. There will always be blue and white fans that want a RT. Thus the value will be there.

Hey, I get that the paint is "special" and if you wanted an RT and wanted stock factory blue/white - than this would fit the bill - but in this post I saw:
1) "This is THE car to own out of ALL Gen II cars"
2) "It will go down as one of the best Vipers"

Those just seemed like REALLY big statements for a paint job. And, honestly with 53 made in this paint scheme, is it rare enough and/or special enough to garner those types of statements? That what I don't get...

Either way, to each his own.

Hello OKViper,
Can I see your top 5 Gen 2 viper list please. I'll give you mine and you can pick it apart....

1. 1998 GT2
2. 1997 RT/10 Blue & White
3. 1996 GTS
4. ACR GTS (Any Year / Color)
5. 2002 Final Edition

As for options.... Oh ya. Color. That's pretty much it beside the changes from year to year. They are all the same motor, same HP, Same Torque (Except the GT2 & ACR), same tranny, same, same, same. The only thing you really could choose each new model year is color (Exterior or interior). That is one of the reason color matters.

I hope all vipers bring big dollar.... including yours if you have to sell it (don't do it!)

They are under valued and a great buy right now!

My List:

1) 1998 GT2
2) 2002 FE GTS
3) ACR/GTS all years
4) 1996 GTS
5) Shelby series RT/10's
6) 1996 McViper
7) 1999 GTS (new upgrades/last forged)
8) Any one-off special car (promotional. VOI, VCA editions...)
9) 1997 blue/white RT
10)everything else.

Our lists are just different. BTW- I would have put 1992's in front of the 97 B/W also.

Of course, there are few changes between all these cars, there were not many built. I still say that this car, TO ME, isn't that big of a deal. It would maybe be a $5000 premium, TOPS, for the paint scheme.

Regardless of what Viper is being discussed, someone will always defend it. For example, McVipers or Creampuff cars or 99 forged cars or 97 B/W RTs, someone will always feel that their favorite is special, but it doesn't mean that I think it is.

BTW - I think your FE car is WAY more special than a 97B/W RT!
