2\" Seat lowering kit in a 2002 GTS

Any input on how to get the seat bolted back into the car? I have the old rails off, the new lowering kit installed. The longer bracket is on the front for the bolts, the shorter bracket on the rear of the seat for the nuts.

Yes I already did a search and saw the post with pictures referencing the metal bar to pull back and that would allow the cushion to lift up, but I do not have that bar on my 2002 GTS.

I do not have this metal clip:

The bottom cushion on my car is all one piece, butt-bolsters, bottom upholstery, etc is all one piece. There are two plastic lips that hold the front and back to the frame, but that doesn’t look like its going to work.

Any ideas, help, etc? One would think for $189, Northwind would include some instructions of some sort.

Thanks in advance.

You need to cut the two front left & right hog rings (replaced by the two zip-ties)and release the plastic channels looping onto the underside of you seat frame then your cushion should lift and you’ll be able to reach to the back.

KV-

I just checked it out and snipped one of the rings. So correct me if I am wrong, but you basically have to take the complete seat leather off of the bottom seat cushion? I dont want to end up f'ing something up and needing to reupholster the seat cushion. Also the lever to recline the seat is attached to both leather and the frame, do you have to take those two screws out? The leather wont come away otherwise it appears.

Josh,

I did this to both seats in my GTS. Take the rings off and replace them with zip ties. No problems. Yes, the set back recliner control comes off too. It took me a bit of time getting the new brackets lined up and I had to drill a larger hole in one bracket, but I got it to work.

It would be nice if they had some pictures and better instructions as well.

Good luck,

Dan
