Can non-VCA members buy a ticket? Probably not but I was just wondering anyway.

Nope. I even tried the whole "If I win I'll be a member" routine too...

Course all the really good cars have been raffled off already so now they're scrounging the bottom of the barrel these days...

Hey, Don't you guys even worry about it, ticket 0087 is the winner for sure, we will be bringing the car back to Ohio.
I hate to say it but, the 2003 cars are growing on me now, so I bought the winning ticket.

I got my flyer for the 2003 Raffle in the mail today.

It's an SRT-10, and the picture depicted a mostly red car with vertical gradient bars fading down the side from red to orange to yellow and yellow stripes around the back. The car had a dark blue hood, blue lower cladding in the rear, and yellow wheels!

Frankly the colors looked show-car gaudy, but I'll still be happy to win the car, as repainting is relatively cheap. Plus there was a disclaimer saying "*Please note that the car scheme is subject to change".

I would also love to see pics (as well as stats) of the raffle car from VOI7 posted here soon!

I sent in for my one ticket today. I'll win of course. When I do win, I wonder how much tax I'll have to pay. I guess it would be just straight income tax, based on the MSRP, right? What's the MSRP on the car? Then I would have to pay a luxury tax and then my regular Maryland 5% registration fee. If the MSRP was $75k, how much will I have won after paying all these taxes. The other thing I was wondering was, if the car really comes with that paint job, how much would that detract from the resale price, should I decide to sell the car? I just can't believe anyone would pay extra for that paint job. Well, I guess I mean, would there be more people in the market for that paint than those who would reject it?
Anyway, I still hope I win.

I'm hoping that the disclaimer means that the final paint job may be more integrated and tasteful looking than the carnival colors shown in the flyer.

As a collector car (being a one-off design) the raffle Viper would potentially be more valuable kept in it's unique factory paint job colors. And a car collector would probably pay at least full price for the car, to have one that was so unique.

But if I won the car, and it was painted like it looks in the flyer, I'd repaint the it because I actually want to own a SRT-10, and even if I could find a collector buyer, there is little chance that I could get another '03 SRT-10 anytime soon with the money because this year's allocation is essentially pre-sold.

Of course these are the kinds of problems that I'd love to have.

I'm guarenteed to win as I'm the only one going to enter who doesn't want the car. Though I'm sure I can convince someone to trade up with a certain SpiderViper or White RT I like...

I grabbed some extras,so I can mail a few out. I imagine they can be photocopied, and there are supposedly sending members a copy in the mail. Call Kim or Fiona at 1-800-889-1893 to check.

The more I think about it and look at the paint job, the more I think that it would be a real shame to stick someone with this gaudy paint when the winner might not like it. Seriously guys, winning the car would be great but I couldn't live with that paint. I'd have to trade it or paint it, and to do either of those would cost thousands. It look's like something a teenage kid would want. The Viper is flashy without all that. These graphics are enough to really make the car unacceptable to more than a few adults. I would love to win it and I hope I do. I just hope the graphics are not mandatory.

Yes, in fact the image IS of a guitar... and if you look at the side, what looks like two brake pads next to each other is actually supposed to be the pickups of an electric guitar (the part that amplifies the sound?).

I'm sure the concept will look much better when Dodge does their thing!

I'll try to scan the image tomorrow.

Now that I'm looking at the picture I can easily see the guitar.
It goes down the side (probably both sides) of the car, with the base of the guitar being at the nose of the car, and the image flaring out towards the rear of the Viper.

I suppose that I could understand the rock & roll related design if there was some sort of music/car tie in, but it the colors and design kinda reminds me of the infamous Remster's meteor/dolphin Viper paint job, that only a dot.com millionaire could love.

If the plan was to make the car stand out, I would have just done some cool, outlandish paint like ChromeIllusion, or a bright candy-apple metallic with silver stripes similar to competition coupe. Something eye-catching but tasteful.

Similarly I haven't really liked some of the Corvette's anniversary edition/Indy paint schemes either, with the purple/yellow '98 convertible looking particularly gaudy.

Still, I'd be happy to win the Viper, and will come to the matter of the paint AFTER I take the keys and drive it around the blocks a few times!

Perhaps the music tie in is the Nashville VOI.
Like I said, I bought my ticket and I hope I win. I just think it's a shame to paint up the car in a way that would make it less desirable to a large number of grown up, adult VCA members.
