If one adds -'ONLY'- K&N Filters w/smooth tubes=(10+ advertised Hp gain)
and High Flow Cats=(11-17 advertised Hp gain).
Will this really add this much Hp to a stock GTS?
I always see advertised Hp gain in Magazines, etc. And I keep up with many posts on the board showing Dyno results with mods, but this just made me wonder.
It sounds too easy and too cheap(aroung $200)! Is it?!
But it sound great too!!
True or False here?

I better hurry up and put my filters and smooth tubes on!!
Alan, you are correct on the price. I saw high flow cats priced at $99, but you need 2 of them! Oops! So I was off there! But you made me feel good about the deal I got on my filters and tubes, I paid just over $100 total!
Thanks for the idea on the exhaust. But I will wait on the exhaust until spring when I can go with Headers, Corsa 3" and high flow cats! Somehow, I think that is going to cost me more than a few hundred bucks!!

Casey!!! Finally someone to ride with in Italy! I'll have my car there next year. I live in Loreto and Castelfidardo all summer and go to Ferrari "raduni" there. E-mail me so I'll call you next time I'm there. Do the mods, they are worth it, or if I go there this winter, I'll bring them to you.

Go with the K&N's and smooth tubes and pass on the cats. They seem awfully reasonable, but alot of the Big Guys ( Archer Racing Accessories for example ) leave on the stock cats for their unique rifling core, when they add on headers, so.......
I would suggest skipping that change and do the simple one. Snake -Oyl's rear exhaust section replaces the back resonator ( getting rid of alot of weight ) and substitutes stainless steel. mandrell bent pipes. These are good for 7-10 hp like many of the cat-back systems. This gave alot of folks ideas to have a muffler shop just build them one and slap it on. It will keep you cost down some, but we sure replace alot of the hand -built units. Next step up is the Borla and Corsa systems, which are both very popular. Corsa is the new leader , in many folks minds , in proven hp gains, and Borla is still the preferred choice for Bada#@ sound. Have fun , as you can get 20-28 hp for a reasonable price, regardless.
