4-post lift for lowered Gen II

I've spent the last 20 minutes reading old posts with positive comments on 4 post lifts by Back Yard Buddy, Mohawk, and Direct lift.

Does anyone have any experience getting a lowered GTS on one of these or can you recommend another company? I will be parking another car under the Viper so I need to make sure the Viper will fit on the lift. Also, if you don't mind, please tell me what you paid for it.

I believe the key is the ramp length. I recently ordered a 2nd BackYard Buddy and ordered the extended ramps. You could also fab some ramp extensions.

Wood planks or having longer ramps built are the easy/cheap solutions.

We have 2-post chassis lifts at work and I just drive the Viper up on some 2X4's at all corners to get more clearance for the legs to fit under the side sills, works great. BE SURE TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE, especially while lowering.

The same would apply for a 4-post drive-on style, just place the wood in front of and under the leading edge of the ramps while you drive on/off the lift.

My 01 GTS is lowered and I have the Complete Hydralics 4-post. No problems on or off and I can stack my Mazda sedan on top with the Viper underneath or vice versa (standard garage height). Cost delivered via VIPER CLUB discount $1599 + $400 freight to Florida.

My FE is lowered (Eibachs), and goes on and off my Direct Lift with no problems.
I bought from Greg Smith's about two years ago, and if I remember I think I paid $1999.00 plus shipping. Since then I believe the price is down about $100.00. I found their customer service to be excellent and very responsive.

I've purchased several items from Greg Smith. These guy's wrote the book on customer service. As far as getting your car on the lift most (if not all) offer upgraded long aluminum ramps. I use the ramps for all of my lowered cars and the work great.

I have a BENDPAK single post lift. That's right, single post It is great leaving the garage open with just one post on the side. Not sure why I don't hear of any one using this lift.(I do realize that a cost of $4100.00 installed is a little high...but worth it. It is rated at 7000#. No problems at all. My 01 is lowered 2+ inches and I place a small piece of plywood under the ramp and drive right on. Bring your car over and check it out. I live in STL. Send me a pm

That is the one I was looking at recently. I want a 4 post lift for the convenience of stacking but still want it to be as functional as it can be for working on cars.

Does any one have a single post lift? Beside the cost factor,(judging by some of the vehicles I have seen in e-mail signatures, cost wouldn't be the reason) it seems like this lift would be ideal. It is easy to work on cars as you can lower the car on jack stands if you want to remove the wheels to work on car. When done with the work,I just raise the lift back up. Everything is still aligned on the lift. Very easy. Another good point is that there isn't a post, greasy chain, or lifting forks directly in front of the drivers door for easy access. Being somewhat new here, is there something I don't know about this lift?

I agree. The car shown in the pic has a 3.5 ground clearance and some 2x10's did the trick getting it on the hoist.

Bob at A and E equipment. He installed the lifts for Joe at PBJ. He also installed a single post lift (like mine) for my dad's corvette. Real nice guy. he came out twice after install to adjust the lift. I can call him and save you some of the install charge. There is a guy down south (STL) that sells a lot of lifts also. He has a lot of used lifts right now also. I bought an almost brand new 12,000# "Worth brand" four post lift for $1000 and installed it in the service area at my office (to servie work vehicles)
