While reading an old issue of R&T I noticed that the GTS-R 5 point shoulder belts are positioned on the outside of the headrest, not through the top slot like many others do.

This appears to be a better choice to avoid neck abrasion, but would appreciate comment from others more familar with 5 points. Do the stock seats have the receiver in the frame in order to bolt on a second belt guide?

Thanks....

Ron,
I guess it depends on how "broad" you are - but with me they'd be in an "off the shoulder position. Nice for a dress dangerous for a safety harness.... I would not recommend it - as this puts the belts already in a position to allow your upper body to "bust through them" as that are already too far apart.

Looks like it was done for photo purposes only...

I suspect that those belts were simply positioned to show off and photograph the Viper Embroidered logo. They are clearly NOT ajusted for use....look at the pull-down shoulder take-up straps and buckles!

They were NOT "installed" outside the headrest window, just routed that way by the user/photographer.
