I'm up to 200 miles on this car. Filled it up and now after 75 miles looks like I have 1/2 tank giving me a range of 140 miles!? I don't drive it hard since can't rev it pass 3K RPM. Is this normal or my snake likes gas.

I used to get a 130 mile range out of my tank, I tried for more once (thinking there maybe a few reserve gallons) and discovered there wasn't any, had to roll to a stop out of fuel and phone a friend to get some cans from the nearest gas station!

Next time you take 'er out hit the brakes hard and look at the guage, The fuel sloshes around and when I hit the brakes the needle can go up as much as 3/16. I get about 200 miles per tank with about 1/2 time hard driving 1/2 time cruising. 140 sounds low unless your "getting it up to break in RPM's" in a hurry.

If it is anything like my 98. The gas guage well is off a little. At the half tank level it only reguires 8 gallons to top off. Mine on the empty line still has 4 gallons. I believe the tank size is 20 gallons.

Be careful. When the gauge pointer on my '96 was on the empty marker, it was truly empty. (Had to push it into a gas station - once. Not TOO embarrassing.)

I have not tempted the '01 yet.

When asked what kind of gas mileage I get, I answer, "I can usually get double digits".

All snakes like gas!

Around town, I get an average of about 9-10MPG. I go about 150-175 miles between fill-ups (18 gallon tank), so yours sounds about the same. On the open highway, I get a good 20+ MPG. I've never had a vehicle with such a difference between mileage in the city vs. open hwy.
