hello everyone I am a new viper owner , I bought a 94 RT 10 with 45,000 miles it is black with silver stripes I love it . the car sat up for about 3 years before i got it , it was wreaked , but just the front A arm was damaged , i fixed it and out about 500 miles on it , but when i really get on it after it has warmed it it has a bad pinging in the motor , and sounds like it is only comming from the passanger side. when it is cold it seems to idle really rough , but has plenty of power . i changed the plugs ( they were not bad at all) and changed the air filters they had a reall sticky coating on them and were completly clogged. but it still runs rough. it helped when i put 93 octain gas in , i know i should run this all the time. fuel pressure is about 55 and does not drop when i gas on it. i have always owned camaros and am used to the lt1 and ls1 motors. as far as i can tell except me replacing the water pump everything is stock any ideas i wanted to get some input before i ran something like sea foam cleaner trough it ?

You MUST use 93 all the time! I would bet that your front O2 sensor is probably bad. With a 11 year old car, I would bet they are original. Change out both sides and see what happens. Make sure you disconnect the battery too. This will reset the computer and start with the factory base line.

There is only a "front" O2 sensor in the OBD-I 1994 model. It's probably due for replacement, and could help the roughness, but at full throttle the ECU is in open loop and the O2 sensor is along for the ride.

You changed the pump - make sure the coolant system is full. Beyond looking at the reservoir, crack open the heater hose at the heater core. Or squish the larger hoses and listen for air. If not full, it'll run OK until some load, and the gauge reading may not accurately pick it up. (Don't ask me how I know this.)

I wouldn't do anything until you are sure that you have a full tank of 93 that has not been diluted with lesser gas.

That may be your only problem.

3.07 is the stock rear gear ratio.
3.5X will "wake the car up" and feel like a nice addition of HP. You will get worse gas mileage (or at least I did/do) with the gear change. Great bang for the buck upgrade.
