Three years ago I purchased a 94 RT/10 with only 800 miles on it from the original owner. It had been serviced regularly and he had all the records. I immediately bought an extended warranty. So far (6,700 miles now) the only problem I have had was with the windshield wiper (bad module but it took 3 visits before they figured out that the right module controls both sides) and it was fully covered. I consider it a great purchase and I love the car, although I much prefer driving my 96 GTS with mods.

With the prospect that there are many good 94's out there for sale, why take the chance on a car that has not been driven? I bought my 94 last year with 29000 miles and have had zero problems period!!

Take your time and find the right car. It's out there, just be patient

Not Driven in 2 Years? Yikes.
Antonio from this board has a '93 that sat for quite a while and it developed some problems (Crank seal, head gaskets?,etc. Worse thing for a car is to sit!!!
Be careful and smart..

Assuming no mechanical problems, I believe a '94 RT/10 with 800 miles should sell anywhere from $42,000 - $46,000. Good luck.

I would definitely buy a car that had those few miles. I bought my '94 with 9000 miles on it and it is doing great. Think about all the things that didn't get any wear and tear before you write off the car for not having been used much. That car isn't even completely broken in. Basically anything rubber and other gaskets may have been dried out so you may have some leak problems and have to replace some gaskets, although that isn't a given. But doesn't that beat knowing that in 1,500 miles there is almost no chance of it being badly abused? If you buy a car with 30,000 miles there are a lot more miles that could have been driven hard. I'd check the seals and gaskets on inspection and if it looks good, go for it.

di4avpr - I would absolutely ask a Viper tech to take a look at the car!! Listen to their advice then you'll have a better feeling as to whether or not you should purchase the car. Good luck to you.

Ab - I have about 34000 miles on the car now and I bought it last May for about $39000 (including the white stripes that had just been painted on the car - the car is in excellent condition). Also got the DC 4 year extended warranty for $1500. Hope this helps........Kurt

I purchased my red 1994 RT/10 last year with 1,900 miles on it. I have put 1,700 miles on it myself since then. I try to drive it now at least once a week. The only problem I have had is where the fuel pump loses presure after the car is turned off. I have to turn the ignition a couple of times and then it cranks right up.

When I bought it, the Dodge dealership in Myrtle Beach put a new battery in it and checked everything out for me. I definitely like the lower miles. If you go to sell it down the road and you have less than 10,000 miles on it, I think that makes it more attractive.

I also agree with the price range of $42,000 to $46,000 for the one you described.

You tend to agree with me because you're Aussie and I'm Canadian! There is some strange Imperial lineage that makes us logical thinkers!

Anyway, there is nothing rude about getting it inspected. I would have it inspected even if it was my best friend selling it to me. It's not about what the seller may be hiding, it's about what they may not know that needs to be looked for. If the seller thinks you are "distrusting" him just tell him that with so low mileage you want to make sure that the parts that get lubed by normal driving are still in reasonable shape.

Please check the left front shock of this car. Also check the steering rod going down the left side of the engine. Look for slight overspray on the underside of the hood. If you find these things, this is a car that was wrecked. If it's the same one, I looked at this car in Maryland about a month ago and determined that the "slight curb bump" the owner mentioned was actually a fairly large mis-hap. Write me at [email protected] if you want more info.

Also, check the VIN against carfax. The owner would not return my calls requesting the VIN of this car and I suspect there is a reason.

Ok..what I MEANT to say was check to see if the left front shock and the steering rod are new. Also, the small aluminum plate on the bottom of the car just in front of where the driver's feet are (but on the outside) was wrinkled pretty bad. If it's not the same one, disregard this message. The mileage, year, color and general part of the country are right though.

Also, the person who owned it had a very hispanic-sounding name...though I can't remember what it was.
