Wow, I must have just bought the last one last week... I only
bought it because I got tired of the fob going off when I would
put it into my pocket. And it did fix that problem.

If I were you I'd try to get one off of Ebay... even if it
didn't work all your looking for is the case of the fob not
the guts....

Another trick I have seen done is to cut the bottom plastic
ring completely out and then drill a hole in one of the
corners of the cover.. then put the metal ring into the hole.

If you do it right you cant tell it was ever modified and it
was built that way from the begining.

If you try Dixter idea, you might want to remove the circuit board before you drill.....

I just dropped mine the other day and it busted in the same way. I got a new one from JonB for $45 or so, and JB welded (JonB welded?) the old one back together. It's nice to have a backup. The new one wasn't exactly the same and is almost small enough to fit in a normal pocket now.

They are easy to program to your car. No tools needed. There's an article in the latest viper magazine with the details.
