97 GTS vent problem HELP

i noticed today that my air/heat will only blow through my defroster vent no matter what selction i make with the dial. has anyone else had this problem and what should i do??

Check the vacuum hose at the motor,also under the pass side dash if same as a gen 1.Defrost is a default.

The way I understood it with the Gen I Gen II vipers (and this is how it is on my car) is...if you want heat, its the defrost setting only. No vent. Air only comming out the top of the dash to the windsheild. If you want A.C. Its the vents in the dash and the large holes just under the dash only.

Heat is adjusted by the heat knob. Where the heat comes out is dependant on where the knob is turned to. A/C also vents/exhausts where the knob is set to.

After looking in my '99 Shop manual it shows vacuum actuators controlling the doors. Check your vacuum lines.
