We finally had a sunny day last weekend and here are a few somewhat amateurish photos (a couple pics are kinda washed out by the sun) of our new (new to us) yellow 2001 RT/10. It is in really nice condition with just over 11K miles. Everything is stock and it appears the car has not been messed with in any way. Other than the obvious, the best thing about it is that I can adjust my mirrors from the inside of the car now!!! It does have the original tires (almost lost it braking same day), so next spring I will be springing for tires (bad pun intended). :D Those tires are as hard as Fred Flinstones, but still have 80% of the tread.

This thing is like driving a neon sign down the road! I think it is helping to keep the chiropractors in our town in business because of all the neck turning injuries. :D

Yellow looks very nice in the sun. It's funny how all comments came from yellow owners so far...no sight of red...

Congrats on a very nice year and color choice. Only 356 Yellow 2001 R/T 10's produced.

Very nice car.:2tu: Nice scenery to go with it.

Somethig about YELLOW that just stands out. Is it because it looks best? or it is fastest? or it is a chick magnet? or it is just the best colour?.....ALL OF THE ABOVE AND A LOT MORE, SO GET USED TO BEING THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. :D :D

When you get your invite to the YELLOW FEVER club put some more pics in there. You will see you can never have too much YELLOW.

Sapphire Blue right here :)

I like the Sapphire Blue. Very nice color but the one I looked at had a significant amount of track rash and 3 times the miles for similar money. I always wanted a yellow one from the beginning when I bought my red 94. I am pleased with the car... Especially the 2001 edition with mirrors you can adjust from inside!!! :drive:

I like yellow too. A bumble bee GTS is a stunning car in person. So is a yellow RT. Enjoy your '01!!!! I love the heck out of mine. I had 4200 miles on it when I bought it in july of '05 and she now has 15k on her. The adjustable mirrors are nice. :)

I love the massive amounts or torque and hp from my supercharged engine. The Sapphire with Silver didn't start as my fav., that was always Black. But, after a week the Pearle Blue got me. I'm really enjoying the Blue tooth stereo I put in the car. Now that hands free phones are the law in so many places, it's awesome to answer the phone by just saying Hi. Doesn't distract me from the road! Best part is that it's like the person on the phone is sitting beside me. I want this system for in my house!!!

As an amateur photog I think that the "washed out by the sun" issue is the 'effects' of the premium metallic paint used on Vipers. I have Black to med Blue pics of this Viper and I have Pink pics of my Red 98 GTS. My Hemi Orange Duster often comes out Red in pics. If you can quicken your shutter speed and darken the pic or use the bright sunshine WB adjustment on your camera that should darken the paint and improve your pics. I think your pics are good though.

After owning a red Viper and a Yellow one I have noticed that the Yellow one is faster. Both were stock. (Don't mind the red one was a Gen 1... But should that count? They are supposed to be faster?)

I think it has something to do with the 2001 Yellow is called "Race Yellow". They don't call red "race red". :rolaugh: (Note the capital "Y" on Yellow and the small "r" on red... :lmao:

Go Yellow Go :drive:

From two SILVER Viper owners here!! :D Ditto on the tires...ENJOY~!!!
~juli

I love your silver ones too. :2tu: Yea, gotta get new tires. I am going to wait until spring as it will probably be sitting in the garage with the exception of a spin around the block every now and then over the winter as weather permits. It's already crappy weather here in good 'ole Central Illinois.

Are PS2's still the standard??? Are there other tires that I should consider??? Thanks everyone for the nice comments. :)

Welcome to "Team Yellow"! (I notice the slow red group is being quiet, as they should be:D).

PS2s are your best bet for the street. If you MUST wait 'til spring to change those old tires, for Heaven's sake, be extra careful on them, especially now that the days are cooler; old tires (no matter how much tread they have), are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS on a Viper! Change them NOW, if at all possible, if you are going to enjoy a few fall driving days. Check with Jon B. at Partsrack; a set may cost you a bit less than you think (and are a lot cheaper than repairing a wrecked Snake!)
