Hi Guys,
New to the forum. Lot's of valuable info, thanks. Getting to my question...I had two tires put on the back, when I drove away my low tire and abs light came on. The tire pressure is fine. I understand this has to be reset or something after a tire/wheel change. Is this correct? Easy fix? Thanks.

ABS light on is not im my experience a result of mounting and unmounting tires. Unless you were on a Dyno I think you might have a bad or dirty rear sensor. Even after a dyno run the abs will cycle when you go over 15-20mph and the light should go off.

The low Tire light should go off on its own if pressure is good. If the sensor on the tire was damaged during the tire swap (this happens often) then a new sensor is needed? Maybe it will all go away but I for one am never happy to see the ABS light on. Means possible brake issue.

Elvis, thank you very muuuch. Cant believe the search police has not hit yet on this. Anyway, you may have to have the dealer reset with their fancy programmer to get the light out. I had the same issue with one of my 09 Vipers after a tire set change. They did the reset and after driving 1/2 mile or so the light was out.

No, just the LTPMS light. The ABS light may be a whole different problem. Paul Tracy found this out on the Super Car challenge driving the Hennessey twin turbo Viper loseing to the Ford GT. Ouch.....

As long as the wheel sensors are re-installed in the same locations, a reset is not usually required. Sometimes, driving a few miles will reset the system. If not, then you should take the car back to the place that installed your tires and see if they have the tool to reset the system. They could have damaged a sensor or swapped the sensors. Some dealerships will perform a reset as a courtesy. Others will/can charge you for up to 1 hour of labor.

To heck with Search Cops, GEEZ, I hate to say again: THE YEAR MATTERS.

Programmer RUNNR: Genius that you are, Can you set it so that if a ? appears in a post, without a YEAR, the post BOUNCES BACK to the poster and asks for a model year ?!?!?

When asking a question in the forum areas, the CORRECT, MOST-ACCURATE answer can [and usually does] depend on the Model Year, and sometimes on the Model.

So, "My Viper Does This" just aint enuf for an accurate reply. You might get lucky and get a corrcet answer, but many times there are exceptions where THE YEAR MATTERS ....a lot.

We cannot ASSume that even in the "proper" forum, the answer applies to all cars in those Generations. It does not!

Rave Over..... sorry Elvis, the prior 11667 questions without a YEAR triggered a psychotic break ~~~~~~~:<~
