ACR Stripe on Gen 3 Hood???

I wish to put an ACR stripe on my Gen 3 hood. I want to do it in vinyl. Has anyone done this and had any issues? Apparently, since the hoods are different it is hard to line up with the steering wheel and the stripe installer has to move it further out because the scoop is wider. Comments??? Make any sense???

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The stripe goes over the vents on the Gen4.
