Adding stripes

I'm looking at a new 2008 that's a decent deal but it does not have stripes. It's Viper red. I really do like white stripes on that color.
What are your opinions about having them added after the purchase? Does it de-value the vehicle if they are painted on by a reputable car restore shop? Or does one need to stick with the factory version (looks like decal with clear coat on them).

You can always do them in vinyl. A good vinyl shop can install them and make them look very sharp. Send me an email and I will forward some pics of my red 04 with black vinyl stripes.

do it in vinyl first, see if you like it. then later paint them.

Thanks. Your right about the search. Must have s*&T for brain yesterday as I did not bring up anything and checked it now and it did.
Will still have to get someone to put the vinyl on as I can't even seem to get a small sticker on without bubbles or something.
