Either airbag can be disarmed if the proper D/C kit is used. (Of course, there are legal issues to coinsider).

Properly used, the other airbag would function normally. There are TSB's on it.

Hence the reason for the disarm kit. The kit fools the airbag computer into seeing both airbags when in fact there is only one.

Where can I get a D/C kit? How much do they cost?

My car currently does not have either air bag. I elected to go with a Momo steering wheel for the driver side since I have 5-point belts, a roll bar, I don't like the look of the stock steering wheel and I will be the one driving. However, I want to install a passenger side air bag.

I'll post the parts numbers later tonight.

Kit for Right side Air Bag On & Off Switch Part #5011483AA MSRP $65.35, That's just the switch and Elc. hook-up. The Instrument Panel that goes with the kit that has the hole in
it, Part #LB38JX8AH MSRP $525.00 for 98 Vipers is no longer available from DC. You may be able to use a later year Dash?

The later dash would work if someone had a 1996 or 1997 that they wanted to equip with a passenger side airbag switch, (however they'd also have the hole for the power mirror switch in the later dash) but in Anthony's case he has the airbag switch already, (since it's a 1998) but wants to deactivate the drivers side only.

To do that, he'll need kit part number 04798355AB.

Kit includes:
Deactivation jumper (artifical squib resistor)
Window label
B-Pillar label
Owners manual label
Instruction sheet
