Airbox to Hood Clearance Adjustment Possible?

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I've noticed many Vipers having misadjusted airbox to hood clearance, including my own. The only way I can find to adjust it would be to shim the bottom of the box up, however the mounting studs are not long enough to allow any shimming. The hood is adjusted properly at least in relation to the headlights, fascia and side sills.

It seems to me about 40% of Vipers have a similar problem. Though I know the scoop doesn't have a lot of ramming effect, no reason to build up underhood pressure either.
