rdustman,

I have the Hennessey carbon airbox which is great cosmetically, the performance side of it, I can feel a slight difference when I accelerate at high speeds, but it doesn't show up in the dyno runs. However, looking at it from the engineering persective (I am a mechanical engineer) I can see that the smooth curves on the back side (after the filters) would promote better flow to the throttle bodies that the stock flat airbox does not and my whole filter is dirty when compared to only 2 7/8" used when I had a stock airbox.
If performance for the money is a concern, I know Heffner and others have modified airboxes (cut out rain gutters and reflowed larger backsides for back of the airbox) that probably functions the same, but the carbon fiber airbox is really beautiful.
