Does anyone know if there is any other vendors that make a muffler delete pipe besides snake oyl ? There tips seem to stick out to far,or should I not be a cheap skate, and get the corsa? Do you believe the horsepower claims they say it makes? thanks ...AL ...00PROWLER

I have had both. Corsa is definitely (in my strong opinion) the way to go. Snake-Oyl can be pretty raspy, aesthetics are not as nice - only two of many reasons to go Corsa.

Any questions, e-mail me.

I paid $30 total for my muffler delete--put the factory tips back on. The entire job was 30 minutes start to finish.
No, I didn't use stainless. I have had very good luck with aluminized tubing on other cars while enduring 300" of snow and salt. As my car will never run in these conditions, I didn't consider it necessary for the muffler delete.

BTW--T304 stainless is not as expensive as you might think. The last I checked it was $6-8 dollars per foot. I think 36" covers the muffler delete. I did not put an 'H' pipe in. I was happy with the sound for a temporary set up.

My current Belanger system--headers all the way back--leaves no residue on my bumper and is not stainless.

If all you want is to delete the muffler then take it to a muffler shop and have them weld the stock tips back on the replacement pipes. $100 to $200.

Sound was mucho better. I did it two years ago and haven't modded anything since.

My 98 RT/10 dyno'd at 424 with muffler delete, smoothies and K&N.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I can tell you from experience, and Cory will confirm, the added length has no effect on keeping the rear of the car any cleaner. That was the intent on the design, but actual use shows that they'd need to be an addition 2 feet long if they were to be effective.

Snake Oyl is a quality piece but adds drone to the nicer sounding exhaust it creates. If you don't like drone, spend the money on the Corsa.

If you ever plan on doing the Corsa, save your money on interim steps, wait till you're ready and then just do it.

If you're an experimenter, do the muffler cut up. An "H" crossover will help with the drone, (still slightly more than stock though) but in my experience produces less HP than the straight pipes of the Snake Oyl. You can't go back to stock if you don't like it unless you buy another stock assembly from a new Corsa owner though. Definite sound improvement over stock.

The dyno might show an HP improvement with all three, (stock cut up least, Snake Oyl second and Corsa best) but I question whether your butt will. It's all about sound......
