I received this convincing but bogus email supposedly from EBAY complete with the colorful logo at the top (not shown here) requesting that I update my information to keep my account active.
Cut and pasting the supposed link to my browser only got a dead end-as I suspected.
..Typically, if you just click on their link in one of these scam emails,it'll take you to the scammers next bogus page, but if you put the URL into your browser and try and go to the page, nothing happens.
I've written EBAY and they confirmed that the letter is bogus.
If you've received one of these emails and did input your personal SS# or CC# you'll need to take steps to change your account number or contact the SS office etc..
In my previous thread on this subject, board user PicFlight wondered how they can access your bank account with just your number.. I don't know how they do it-but they do.
Never reply to a request for personal information without contacting the bank, or online company etc directly first.
