are they actually just "white"? because i remember seeing pictures of a GTS white w/ blue stripes a long time ago....and it wasn't the RT white/blue.

That would be the 1998 GTS GT2 Edition Vipers (replicas of the GTS-R race Vipers). White with metallic-blue stripes. They made 100 of them, and only 100. The RT/10 Viper you mention is the 1996 white with blue saber-tipped stripes, which were only made in 1996.

Sorry daffy there were three white w/ blue stipe GTS's built, and they are not the GT-1 replicas. they were built for some very special people involved in the GTS and orginal viper. i dont think any of the three are selling.why would they they litterally have "hens teeth". only a very few vipers that are more rare than these.

If you go to "media" up above, then select image gallery, then select 1996 GTS you will see 2 pics of the 96 white/blue GTS. Personally, I think the blue with white stripes looks nicer but I would trade in a heartbeat due to its rareity. Any guesses on value?

Three white GTS's were built at the beginning of the GTS production run specificaly for three senior Chrysler executives. All had white 5 spoke cast wheels, though one went to polished instead and JonB ended up with his white ones for his GTS.

One is currently owned by Francois Castaing and he does drive it. I think Eaton owns/ed one and I'm not sure who owns the third.

As for value I would guess would be the highest of all road going Vipers. Certainly north of $100k.

Also, JonB (Partrack) knows all there is to know about these oddities.....

There is quite a story as to how these came about. I am looking at a picture of one of these cars on my wall from a club outing we were at last year. It belongs to one of the original Team Viper Engineers. He is the original owner. I'm guessing it will always be his.

Another Viper fourfather owns one of the other 3, I'm drawing a blank. I'll have to do some research tonight. I saw him on Speedvision (back when it was Speedvision), and they toured his house. Lo and behold, there it was, that was my first introduction to knowing of such a color combination.
*side note* the blue stripes are not sabre tipped, but travel the length of the car, like all painted stripes.

My recollection is that Francois Castaing, Tom Gale and Sandy Emerling are the original owners. I see Sandy every once in a while as he (or Lori) does drive it. Francois and Tom were executives (engineering and design, respectively). Sandy was on Team Viper and responsible for the body at the time.

I do not remember the time frame exactly but I do not think it was early in the '96 model year.

The top picture is the 2 Vipers owned by Sandy and Lori. I believe it was taken at a Chrysler employee car show on the top of the parking ramp last year (maybe the year before - my mind is in "trap" mode).

@ Daffy:
I knew of the GTS-R's produced with the wings, and i knew of the RT's with the sabre stripes...but i DISTINCTLY remeber seeing a picture somewhere with 2 vipers in it...facing the front of them...one blue/white, one white/blue...i'll try to dig it up somewhere..

anyways, am i the only person that thinks this car looks INCREDIBLE in this color combo? i seriously think i've found my new fav color! even the white 5 spokes are absolutely GORGEOUS!

Same picture I'm looking at. We're in one of months at the same place--Steel Gray from the side. That was taken in Interlochen, MI. last September at Rob Butryn's house. There's a few in this year's calendar from the wine tour event.

Yea, couldn't be me. I missed every event last year. Priorities. Got to get them in order this year. Though with a 3 month old there won't be too many long driving trips.

Ohhh, I did not know this. Cool. Nice to learn something new. Nice to see some pics of this Viper, as well. One thing though, I am not familiar with the GT-1 replicas you mention. What is a GT-1 replica, and, for that matter, what is a GT-1? This is also new to me.

the GT1 replicas were what most people call the GTSR from 98 to commerate the racing cars success. those are the 100 white w/ blue stripes, w/ wing, dive fins, four pt harnesses and smooth tubes, (prcursor to the acr)

Just for future reference, Sylvan, not a flame. Vipers raced in the GT2 class, not GT1. You are none the less referring to the 100 GTS-Rs. No different than what you described earlier, Daffy.

The white/blue in the first pic is an RT/10.

P.S. sorry, guys. I didn't do my homework last night and find out who else owns one of the other w/b GTS. I got distracted by putting Viperbilia and OSU Fiesta Bowl stuff up on my new shelves in my room.

Take down the Buckeye stuff, it just clutters things up. Didn't that Freshman turn pro? He drove me nuts last year. MGOBLUE

If you're thinking of Clarrett, he stayed. He pissed all OSU fans when that came out. He later was humbled with a fumble or two (just like Archie Griffith to start his college career). He plans on staying a couple more years, at least.
on a joking note- did he bother you cus we beat you to get the Bowl bid?

The OSU/Fiesta Bowl memorabilia doesn't clutter anything up, the red goes very well with my red Viper models, esp. the 92 red RT10 with grey interior :D

Hmmmmm, as a Michigan man, a small wager may be in order this year Mr. Zilla! MGOBLUE!
PS What is a buckeye anyway? I mean where did that come from? We all know what a WOLVERINE is but what in the heck is a buckeye? By the way, anybody know how many times Michigan has beat Ohio versus the other way around?

Viperzilla, I think you stand corrected. I believe the GTSR ran GT1 in its debut year (possibly 2+ years). Then the GT1 category was restructured and became almost a second prototype class and the Viper jumped to GT2. In GT1 it ran quite a bit more horsepower. Don't remember the specifics but I do remember it running in GT1 at its debut (which was not very good due to transmission problems).
