TireRack lists the ECSTA V700 as a competition tire, not necessarly a street tire. They also go on to say:
"Kumho advises that the ECSTA V700 DOT-legal competition radial must be shaved prior to use in dry conditions. If this tire is not shaved, excessive wear may occur causing the tire to wear to the cords prematurely in a localized area."
So, if you are going to race with this tire you need to get it shaved 1st. Lots of TireRacks reviews talk about these tires failing after a single track session. Is that because they were not shaved first?
How good is this tire as a street tire? The price is right but how long will it last?
If you are looking for an AX tire TireRack has Hoosier A3S03
on closeout for $99.
