Just wondering if anyone has removed the baffle just inside the hoodscoop. It seems removing it would allow a more direct flow of air to the filters. Mine is held in with two screws as the third middle screw is missing.
It would seem to serve no purpose except to direct air or rain down instead of directly toward the filters imho. What do you think, has anyone removed it, and if you have what if anything were the results.

The hood scoop is only a very small percentage of the air to intake, MOST comes from the grill opening(look at intake shroud and where it lines up under the hood). I would not remove this baffle and take the chance of H2O getting into my motor.

I removed it. No adverse effects. Even in a heavy downpour, the water that's gonna get past the filters will be a light mist and that's actually a good thing. I don't know a lot about drag racing, but water injection seems common?

K&N's air not harmed by water, as this it what you wash them in. Very little would get past them. Sean Roe told me this a long time ago, as it rains all the time down there, and it will not hurt a thing.

Now if your still running the lofted paper style filter's, they will shrink up when dry and not work properly.

thanks to those who responded to my question. I believe I will take mine off as it doesn't seem to pose a serious problem.
