Just trying to find a quick safe way to get dust off after drives before applying the Z-7 gloss enhancer.
I do not like spraying the quick detailer on over the dust.
Are these things any good? And do they get so saturated with dust that they no longer remove the dust. Also, does it streak the clear coat or scratch when rubbing this over the dusty car?

Thanks,ed

Hey, they work great. The instructions claim that you might get a streak or two the first couple times you use it, but I never found that to be the case. I use it all the time and have never had any probs (and my car is black!).

I also recommend the duster also I recommend the squeegee that they sell if you have to wash your car because it cut the drying time by half or even more .Also if you are at a car show and if happen to rain ,this take the water right off.My is also Black.

I've used the California duster a few times (just got it recently), and it seems to work well - I use it inside and outside (rt/10 interior gets quite dusty).

I also have used the California water blade quite a bit, it works great for taking off water and I haven't noticed it to scratch either. However, be careful not to get too quick with it, else you can accidentally rub the handle on the car, possibly scratching it.

big believer in duster-reduces the amount you have to wash your car wich removes wax each time.
do not use water blade on my black gts,but i do on my wifes ml430.it seemed to put micro scratches in clear coat.after i rinse the car down well i remove the spray nozzle and sheet the water off, works very well.then i dry with GRIOTS GARAGE micro-fiber drying towel, best i've found.just make sure you wash it about five times to get rid of the lint.
after drying i use GRIOTS speed shine to aid in future dust removall with duster.

Thanks for the tips!
Just ordered the whole shabang from California Car Cover. Large Duster, Small Duster and Water Blade.
Sounds like good investment for $39.
Should work well on the Yellow.

Thanks,
Ed

As long as your wax in fresh, the leaf blower trick dries the car completely with no chance of abrasion. (unless you drop the blower)

I agree with Tony and would just add that you may NOT want to use the duster on a warm/hot car as you WILL get streaking. Other than that, I love it and use it often!!.....Kurt

I have used the duster a couple times. Even if I have just washed the car and did the Zaino treatment, I go for a drive and then use the duster, it gets black. Do I really want to use it on the car after that.

Anyone else have a duster turn fairly black from dirt even when using it after a couple mile drive. If so what is the solution, if there is one.

Just keep using it, doesn't hurt it if it's dirty.

Griot's Speed Shine is great (for wheels too). With the CaliDuster and Speed Shine, my car has never seen a water wash.... and it's a DD (Daily Driver).

Ron,
The leaf blower trick is great, but my 16HP blower leaves to many tire tracks on the car.

Ed,

I use the waterblade all the time. I also use it when wet sanding and buffing new paint jobs. Just be careful to keep it clean or you will drag dirt across the paint and really scratch it (I know from experiance on a black vette) I also use the air blower trick (I use my compressor) to get water out of the crevices.

Ed,

I bought one, just haven't had a chance to use it yet. Something else I did buy & have used is the "California Water Blade". That woks awesome! Takes 95% of the water off your Viper w/o so much as a scuff on the paint! Made by the same company. I never wash w/o it now!
