I want a tire That is good on the street, but also will hook great on the dragstrip. Are BFG's o.k. to drive normally on the street, or is there a better tire for the best of both worlds?

They are anything but GOOD on the street!

If you drive at high speeds you will feel very unstable with them compared to Pilot sports.

Kumhos are NICE for the street and sticky!

If you put the BFG's on your car, I am betting I can out corner you with my Hummer H2 filled with a bunch of hottie chicks. I had the BFG's on my car 1 day and it was miserable. They DO hook in a straight line acceleration though. I find that my Pilot Sport Cups are awesome tires for the street. They are designed for road coursing, so you can take corners fast, and they stick better than pilots. Never ran Kumho's, so can't give you a comparison there.

I drive on them every day... or when I take my car out. They pretty much **** in corners, but they hook like crazy! I've gotten use to driving on them and hardly notice them anymore.

Kumhos, they were GREAT!! I believe they are more for AutoX, so they corner WELL if you have them on all 4 corners!

I only had them on the rears, and they were a MILLION times better than the BFGs, in regards to overall feel.

Aren't the Kumhos known for picking up so much grit that they sandblast the body paint adjacent to the wheelwell? Just thought I'd mention it in case someone put them on their car without knowing ..

I use them for the street. They **** in the corners but hook great. Still better to have them over the pilots, which were just plain dangerous. My BFG's are about dead now and I wouldn't buy them again. Hopefully I can find some 18" Kumho's.

Any tire that hooks really well is going to have a soft compound that catches and throws dirt and rocks.

I found that softening up the rear suspension a little (so you get more squat under hard accelleration) allows your car to hook TONS better, even with regular tires. As an example, it is almost impossible for me to do a 2nd gear roll on in my DLM car and get tire spin now, with the Sport Cups on the rear, under most conditions. My car weighs a few hundred pounds more than you stock bodied cars, so that might play into it as well.
