I'm thinking Hoosiers, rain grooved are the perfect Street/Strip tire,They'll fit my 99 correctly,Z-rated speed, softer compound (like a nitto).Realize drawback is limited life(so what!)I'd rather buy 5 sets a summer and spend more overall than pilots(and drop a second 1/4mi).Also realize that when cold, humid and rainy quite dangerous!Don't want slicks and skinnies, been there done that 20+yrs.Only a few passes so far on juice 11:4@129mph with 100shot,pilots,car sideways top of 1st(opps).Nitro-Snake.

What are the best street tires in regard to sticking and not tearing up your paint? Let's say that cost is not a factor nor is tread life of tire.

Nope. Your local paint shop will love you as the hoosiers will kick up every stone on the road into your paint. Plus road hazards will terminate them very easily.

100% agree w/ Alan...

Been there........sandblasted that. (Paint on sills that is.)
Sticky tires will literally RAIN debris against sills and rear quarter, esp if you run 1+ oversize fronts.

Potholes KILL em. Safety issues when cold or 'sandy'
